Brewer injured in first game as a Grizzly

Post#1 » by Fido » Sat Feb 20, 2010 3:26 pm

So watching the recap of last night's game with the Heat Ronnie went for a steal in the open court and totally went down badly with a hamstring injury. He was carted off the court in a wheelchair. I feel badly for him and wish him the best.

Memphis may end up with the worst of the trade here with Brewer missing time and giving up their pick to have him on their bench. It is crazy how you never know what is going to happen game to game...Get well Ronnie!

Well he had a freak accident, given that if he had stay in Utah he'd probably not have experienced that injury and he'd be fine, it's just bad luck for both Brewer and the Grizzlies. I think that the Grizzlies realize they can't keep both Mayo and Gay, given they are going to have to pay up for Gasol soon too. Anyways, Brewer will come at a fair price for them, and while I have no idea how bad he injured himself, I doubt it affects their decision to resign him, unless he really just doesn't play another game this year. That truly would suck for Brewer.

You gotta hate seeing something so random happen like that. Heres to hoping its a speedy recovery for him, I never like seeing people go down like that, especially such a character guy like Brewer.

This is such a coincidence, as Brewer was probably the most healthy Jazz-man of the last 3 years for us.

Confirmed: He'll miss about 3 weeks with a partially torn hammy

Is it just me or does it seem like a partially torn anything will take longer than 3 weeks to heal?

We all remember Boozer's partially torn hammy and how long that took to heal.......

Best wishes to Ronny, I was really looking forward to seeing him run with the Grizz....... Even if I wasn't his biggest fan when he was on the Jazz........

Absolutely - and trying to come back early from a hamstring injury is about the worst thing you can do to your legs short of an ACL.

He's done for the year.
