Great...you defeated your strawman!

Bonnell's credible sources >>>>> then what you wish/hope happened.

Such a sad sad individual. I'm sitting there watching the Bobcats in OT and you're busy jousting with a straw man argument about a former player.

That's why I'm done. You're no fan and so are irrelevant.

I was watching them, too. I was writing my message during timeouts. Your streak of wrong-ness continues.

And there is no strawman argument. There has been absolutely nothing to show that he was any greedier than guys like Wallace or Felton. Bonnell's credible sources also said we would never make an offer to Varejao, never trade for Richardson, and that Okafor was ready to move on before he re-signed with us, etc.

If you claim this is all just a strawman argument, you are welcome to admit that you think Okafor was not greedy, at least no more than guys like Wallace or Felton, and you can apologize for making the misleading comment that you did.

But, of course, I somehow doubt this is a strawman argument, or else you wouldn't have gone to the lengths you did to try to prove that Okafor was greedy.

PS - you were already supposed to be done.

You're right...I do apologize.

Okafor should have been insulted by a 13 million dollar per year offer and absolutely deserved more. He had every right to want the 2-3 million extra per year that Dwight got (oh that's right...he didn't want Howard money...maybe he only wanted 1.5 million more per year?). Even though he'd run out of options when the Clips traded for Camby we should still have given him more money instead of an even cheaper contract.

Crash being offered only 7 million and then signing with us for 9 million even tho there were like 5 other teams vying for his services is exactly the same situation.

Felton...even though we have no idea what his offer was is exactly the same situation.

The FO treated Okafor badly. I know this because an insider actually posted the Higgins/Okafor negotiations (most don't know about this...so keep it on the down low if at all possible):

Emeka Okafor's Contract Negotiation Eavesdrop

PS: I was done...but in the interests of "getting along" I figured you deserved this last post.

Felton was amazing on those drives last night but his outside shot just wasn't there (except the last 3 pointer...that was just sick). I didn't notice it, but someone at BCP said he sat behind the bench and could see him grimacing walking on the ankle during the time outs.

40% under those cirmcumstances is pretty remarkable.

It seemed to hang in the air forever!! Felt like I was holding my breathe the whole time and ended up turning blue!

Regardless of his 40% or his ankle, I don't think he took any bad shots. Missing shots is one thing, taking bad shots is a totally different thing.

Dwight Howard averages 17m/year.

Even using your completely made up numbers and erroneous assumptions about the negotiation process, it would still not add up to 17m/year. So, your streak continues.

I also don't think anyone here -- besides yourself, of course -- really thinks that Okafor seriously, adamantly demanded 17m/year. If he did -- and he is a greedy person like you say -- it would be really unusual for him to settle for 12m/year with no fuss and no hard feelings.

On behalf of the board, we accept.

50% from 3 and 100% from the line too!

Best part - only 8 shots in 38 mins.

He's pretty much just taking shots he has a good chance of making. The next step is creating more shots like that which will help him create for others when defenders have to worry about him more.

Post all-star break totals:

.460 FG, 0.406 3point, eFG .491, almost exactly 10 FGA per game.

I'll expect him to end the year at .450 FG, and .39 3point.

That's a jump of 5% for FG over career totals, and 8% or so for 3 point shooting.

I'm still not sold but it's a nice shooting improvement for one year, that's for sure, and will likely garner him some extra $.

Note that I am pessimistic and still think he's gonna drop down closer to career averages. But if not... if he keeps shooting >.46 FG and >.4 for 3point, it's rather remarkable. Not too many players do this in year 5 or whatever it is.
