At this point in his career, I think it would be better for Gil to defend 2's. He just can't stop dribble penetration from most NBA point guards. At least he'll have a better chance of staying in front of his man at the 2 - even if he'll have a size disadvantage. I'd rather give up a little size than letting guards penetrate at will.

No, I think Gil's shown he can play effectively with pretty much any type of guard - though I wouldn't want to team him with a ball-dominating PG.
