No NBA highlights, but as a Knick fan I'll tell you he fights for rebounds and has a decent midrange jumper. On defense, he's lost when he has to rotate and once was seen asking who he has to guard. He sets illegal picks as well. He's only been playing since he was 15 and his work ethic was questioned, but as you'll see in the video, he's determined to succeed. He's raw, but he could probably be like Landry in a few years...if he cuts his damn hair.

Just wanted to come on board and say you have a ton of new Houston Rockets fans in the Arizona Wildcats nation.

Jordan will be very good for you guys once given the chance. It was obvious his confidence was not there with the Knicks. Having watched him (and chase) for three years I can say the kid can play and will contribute.

Really excited to watch this team as I have been cheering since the start of the season when Chase got drafted.

I was in the minority but I still liked Jordan Hill in his short time with the Knicks. He usually plays with a lot of energy and hustle. He contests shots (although he somehow doesn't come up with blocks often) and he has a very decent midrange jumper. He scored 20points in college so he must have some moves in the low post. I think with the right coaching he can be a 15-18points and 8-10 rebound player. His biggest issue is lack of strength which he can easily fix in the weight room. Another big knock on him are his hands---he constantly fumbles passes,rebounds etc. I personally think it might have been mostly due to nervousness and will be fixed as soon as he gets used to playing.

In a more likely scenario he'll be a 15/8 type of guy with decent defense. The best comparison I can give you is Joe Smith when he played well.

Let's just say against the Lakers, Gasol had his way with Avi Lee (no D). Had a MUCH tougher time when he was defended by Hill.

But of course, D'Antoni never gave him a chance. Very, VERY raw on offense though. At this point, his main role should just be rebounding and post D. Basically the garbage man.

I gave him every chance I could and put the homer glasses on and magnified everything he did well on the court and tried to ignore the bad. But even then he still looked horrible. He is despicable.

Oh i'm not bashing the Rockets, please don't take it that way. Your organization is obviously very smart and knows what they are doing. This has nothing to do with them.

This has to do with me supporting Hill against my gut for the past 8 months and him continually disappointing me and other knicks fans' hearts. Just to keep up appearances as a good fan I tried to always be positive with him when he was on the team while stomaching the garbage he was displaying on the basketball court. I've been waiting to unleash on this guy for a while now and now that he's finally off my team I can take off the gloves.

You should probably quit worrying about Hill/JJ and the Rockets, start worrying about what your gonna do if you don't get Bron... scary huh

Hill needs time. Of the handful of minutes Hill received in NY, you can see some flashes of some really good things but overall he struggled getting into any kind of consistency (some of which obviously had to do with the lack of consistent minutes). If you guys are looking for a Charles Oakley or Larry Smith type then you'll be dissappointed as Hill just does not seem to have the mentality to mix it up inside. That said, he's not a softy like Channing Frye and he is without a doubt among the more athletic and agile 6'10"+ guys in the league. He will challenge (and block shots), hit midrange turnarounds, rebound and run the floor. The development work would be to get him more comfortable in the paint which is where he's weak at often rushing to get his shot off when he gets the ball inside. He can get pushed around, not because he's not physically able to hold ground but more because he's just doesn't seem to want to fight for it. Physically, there's no reason why he shouldn't do extremely well in the NBA. Whether he does well or not (given his physical gifts) will depend on his mental toughness and desire (which many Knick fans have questioned).

Look I'll tell you Rockets fans the most accurate description of Hill here. Now I was upset draft day that we passed on Jennings, but as a Knick fan I tried to like the guy and gave him every benefit of the doubt. He is a very nervous player with horrible, I repeat HORRIBLE hands. He'd fumble almost every entry pass in the post, took way to long to deciding what "move" he'd use, and often got pushed around underneath almost never coming away with the rebound. His jumper is really great, he has range with it, but that seems to be his only weapon. There were reports from one of our local journalists Alan Hahn as he watched a Knick practice and i quote "watching Jordan Hill and Darko compete for who puts in the least effort" (it may have differed a bit but thats pretty close). I'd never want anyone to fail, but if he has any chance of ever contributing in the NBA he has a lot of work to do.
