A lot of you guys are coming off like a bunch of jilted boyfriends. It's embarrassing. Do these 2 things:
1. Check to see if you still have your testicles;
2. If the answer is yes, stop worrying about what ex-Wizards are saying, including Saint Brendan of the Haywood. If the answer is no, give up basketball and watch more Olympic ice dancing.

This is what I'm talking about. No, I don't want a tea-bag and simply asking that question indicates you need to be watching more ice dancing and less basketball. Enjoy it -- someone thought enough of it to make it an Olympic sport.Donkey McDonkerton wrote:Testicles? CHECK

And as for the comment about Jamison -- that sorta follows naturally from the tea-bag inquiry, doesn't it?
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I'll take your word for it, Donk, but if you offer to tea bag someone, you have to live with the inevitable assumptions and misunderstandings.
Look, you're right. This is a basketball forum and I don't see a problem with a thread devoted to a bunch of guys whining like a teenage girl who just lost her first boyfriend.
I'll leave you to it.

For a second there I thought you were going to say... live with it when I say yes.

Next your going to say stop bitching about Lebron, or bad ref calls, or poor coaching, or lousy draft picks... It's a slippery slope, where do you draw the line?
The American ice dancing teams were pretty good yesterday, but the Cavs losing again was better.

Any day now, I expect to see "Free Ilgauskas" on Haywood's shoes.

Re: Isnt It Crazy How Things Work?
Watching the before and after on how Washington has performed since the trade paints a pretty ugly picture as far as Caron and Jamison are concerned.
I don't care what the on-off differentials say, this team is playing better basketball minus Butler and Il Capitan.
The team hustles, plays with energy and shares the rock. You think it's a coincidence that hero ball seemingly left the town with Jamison and Butler?

Re: Isnt It Crazy How Things Work?
well, that's the first legitimate observation made in this thread. You can't help but wonder if AJ and Caron (Caron in particular) weren't dogging it this year. All those close games we lost -- if only Caron hadn't mailed it in, wouldn't be almost at .500? Saw an article about that the other day.
Let me just ask a real simple questions. How many times in the last THREE years do you remember seeing AJ or Caron diving on the floor for a loose ball?

Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

Re: Isnt It Crazy How Things Work?
I think it's painting with too broad a brush to say Caron AND Jamison weren't giving their best effort. Jamison played his ass off for the Wizards. It might be a legitimate question regarding Caron, however.

I've never felt like Jamison dogged it 9he plays long minutes, plays tired, plays hurt), but I've never really felt like Arenas did either (maybe a few pouty exceptions). Trying hard is perhaps the most important thing, but the Wizards have young players trying to learn, being told to change bad habits, to make changes that are within their power to change. A team like that needs leaders that are visibly working on their own identifiable flaws.
Jamison and Butler (and Arenas too) have identifiable flaws in their games, in their styles, that I believe are well within their abilities to improve upon, and they have generally failed to do so (Arenas seemed to improve his ball distribution this year, but his defense almost seemed to regress; Butler at first had greater defensive intensity, but his offensive game took a step backward). Butler and Jamison are good players, they played the most minutes, scored the most points, and were usually the targets of the most criticism, but in so many ways they were not team leaders.
