OT: College Bowl Discussion

BCS: Love seeing Hawaii in there. If they want to let Kansas in with their cupcake wins and a loss to Missouri who beat Illinois and KANSAS then they might as well let Hawaii play for the title. You could argue 5-6 teams into that title game. Just stupid.

PLAYOFFS PLEASE.

Thank goodness we get Tennessee in the Outback instead of another boring game against Auburn.

Missouri got hosed. Georgia and USC should crush their opponents.

BCS really let down this year, not a big surprise though.

I'm curious what would have happened if West Virgina had scored on that last drive to beat Pitt?

The refs had made some absolutely terrible calls in the favor of West Virgina that were the only reason they had a chance to win on that last drive. There is no chance i could have voted for West Virgina at 1 or 2 after they got so outplayed by a bad Pitt team and only some horrible reffing kept them alive with a chance to steal a victory late.

Sadly, whoever is in the top 5 with the longest winning streak is going to get in. Because so many teams lost they had to go back and pick LSU over Georgia and VT because LSU smoked VT and Georgia didn't win the conference but otherwise it is competition of who has a high ranking and lost last.

Therefore, if WVU had won even in the worst of manner, they would have been a shoo-in for the title game.

As a fan of Hawaii, I'm relieved they got a BCS bowl game at least. Georgia is a quality opponent, so hopefully Hawaii crushes them and shows college football that a playoff is needed. I'm greedy, I don't just want Hawaii to be a respected team, I want them to be national champions. It's too bad that quality teams didn't want to play Hawaii during the regular season this year. Good teams are too scared to play here because they know that they have a good chance at losing. If they could have had one or two top teams, I feel they would have had a chance to play for the national championship.

USC will dismantle Illinois.

Missouri got absolutely screwed.

This year absolutely proved they need a playoff. Good grief.

How would this not be better?

8-team playoff with each major conference champ represented (we can even keep the crappy movement to the current rankings of the top teams that we've had in the past day)

Each year, the order of which bowl gets to pick which matchup would rotate

Rose 1 Ohio State v 8 West Virginia

Orange 4 Georgia v 5 Virginia Tech

Fiesta 3 Oklahoma v 6 USC

Sugar 2 LSU v 7 Hawaii

Next games would be rotated on a year to year basis like the final 4 in basketball at Super Bowl locations from say Glendale, Houston, Miami, Detroit maybe, etc.

How would that not be one of the greatest television events ever?

I'd be fine with that if they cut out two games from the existing season and started the playoffs the second week in December.

This could be one ugly Rose Bowl. USC should be able to crush Illinois by 3 plus TD's. They are favored by 14. I would have loved to see a Georgia/USC game. The 2 hottest teams in the nation matching up in the Rose Bowl. I dont think it gets better than that
