I believe Juans explanation.

"I'm a supplement junkie," Dixon said on Sunday at the Petersen Events Center, where he was watching his younger brother, Jermaine, and the University of Pittsburgh play Villanova. "I like to try different things and I made the mistake of not doing the research and making sure it was legal."

But the former Maryland guard said the notion that he was intentionally taking steroids is laughable.

"Steroids? C'mon," he said. "I was 145 pounds in high school, 160 in college and I'm up to maybe 175 now. Look at me. Be serious. People can say whatever they want, but I've played the same way my whole life."

The assertion that steroids cannot help NBA bball players is preposterous. Whether he did steroids on purpose or not, this is karma at its best. Also, the fact that he did not gain a lot of weight means NOTHING.
Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

Haywood has 13 points, 20 rebounds and 3 blocks with 2 minutes to go in the Dallas/Indy game.

geez, nate - could you show your ignorance any more clearly? maybe I need to write a 14-page diatribe about how Haywood really isn't that good because he's a below average defensive rebounder. I mean, what did he have tonight, like 18 or so defensive rebounds? Weak! He was what was holding back the Wizards for the past 5 years!!!!!

Wood put-up some numbers, but I see that Roy Hibbert only played 23 minutes, I would have liked to have seen the battle. Still, as we can see by Blatche's recent performances, the Trio were death to big-men getting the ball in the post so Wood has been freed also.

This franchise can't even retain it's own free agents (Haywood), and yet people have aspirations of even bigger names signing here? Even rookies who get drafted here going forward will have to think hard about leaving town when the opportunity presents itself.

Why wouldn't this team look a whole lot better with Haywood on it right now? Oh thats right because Caron Butler somehow became so bad that Haywood had to be shipped just to get rid of that contract...

They traded him. He didn't choose to leave. And yes, Butler had become so bad that the Wizards more or less needed to give away Haywood to get rid of him and Deshawn. Why is that hard to believe?

Dallas feigned like we were really putting them out by taking-on DeShawns contract (it's not that bad of a contract and he expires next year), but the truth is that they wanted to get rid of Howard (their Butler) and they had their eye on Haywood all along; they certainly would have targeted Haywood this summer. In the end, Dallas came out as thieves because shockingly, they did not have to give-up a pick. We should have come out that deal with the rights to Calathes or a 2nd rounder minimum.

I think it was attempt to bulk-up so he could play center for EJ's small ball line-up :) They will have a roster space open when they release Iverson.

Funny, the Mavs have their Haywood & Butler appreciation thread up.

Dallas definitely did well on the deal. My only point is the Wizards had no negotiating leverage while Dallas--perhaps the one team in the NBA this year willing to take on bad contracts--had tons. Meanwhile, so far it looks like EG knew what he was doing. I'm very happy with all the players who came over as a result of that trade. I also think it was extremely unlikely that Haywood would be back. Maybe they could have done better doing a sign-and-trade with Haywood over the summer, but you can't say they didn't need to do everything in their power to get rid of Antawn and especially Caron.

It's simply inexcusable for 4 months of playing basketball to turn a player's value from possibly being worth (along with our #5) Amare Stoudemire to all of a sudden having a negative value.

Somebody has to take responsibility for that, that is absolutely unacceptable.

Not that he technically is an "Ex-Wizard" but Drew Gooden almost had a double-double against the Bobcats. Of course he also had 5 turnovers and 5 fouls.

Stevenson has played 3 games for the Mavericks, but more importantly this is the 1st image for Stevenson on google
Image
Can't be real, but either way its awesome.

Dominic McGuire beats them all though. 19 minutes for the Kings vs the Suns, he scores 0 points on 2 field goal attempts. He did manage 5 rebounds, but 0 points in 19 minutes. Going to be a long finish in Sacramento.

Jamison found the hoop in his 2nd game as a Cav. I realize the Bobcats are potentially a playoff team and Jamison was playing his 1st game as a Cav. But how do you go from 0-12 Vs Charlotte to 9-14 Vs Orlando. Cleveland better hope Charlotte isn't their 1st round opponent because Jamison shot 6-30 on Feb 9 and 19th combined Vs Charlotte. And if you add in his other game against Charlotte from this season the number is an amazing 8-39. If your starting PF shooting about 20% from the field vs a team you could end up playing in the 1st round doesn't inspire confidence, I don't honestly know what will.

Is this for real?

Stern to ban Caron's straw chewing

He's sitting out against the Lakers tonight, too. Probably due to withdrawals.
