Carlos Arroyo arrested

Post#1 » by arroyo.com » Fri Feb 26, 2010 10:42 pm

According to Coral Gables Police, a detective followed Arroyo after he saw the Heat player driving slowly and holding up traffic. The detective asked for a marked unit to make a traffic stop on Arroyo.

haha @ his mugshot.

Well, he won't be back next year. Yep, Riley doesn't play with this stuff. Just like he pretty much shut the door on Posey, he'll do the same with Arroyo.

Cops are d!cks, though. Can't find one that's not.

Heat offered Posey pretty much the same than Boston did. I have no clue where this thing of Riley shutting door on Posey.

My guess Arroyo probably got abused by the cops.
Miami has the most corrupt police in the country.

Wait wtf is wrong with his face in that mug shot? What's with all the marks?

Arroyo was the last person I would've expected to get arrested, crazy.

'Police said a motorcycle officer made several attempts to stop Arroyo's car before Arroyo finally pulled over. However, Arroyo refused to get out of his car. Additional officers responded to the scene and Arroyo eventually got out of his car.

Police said Arroyo attempted to resist being handcuffed when he was taken into custody. According to the arresting officers, Arroyo was "confrontational and challenging" after his arrest and posed a threat to both himself and the officers during the incident.'

Sounds like he's been f*cked over to me, they probably just saw a latino driving a nice car, pulled him over and hassled him. What reason would he have not to get out of the car unless he had illegal materials with him, which he obviously didn't as it would've been mentioned. pfffffff... cops.

On second thought, Coral Gables PD are the scum of the earth. They probably beat him up.

Coral Gables? I wouldn't be surprised if they had 13 cop cars on the scene for that. Bunch of morons.

Just noticed, what exactly was a 'detective' doing enforcing traffic violations anyway?

There is very little violent crime in Coral Gables, the pigs there are glorified traffic cops and meter maids. Same in Pinecrest (where Wade used to live) and pretty much any affluent area in Miami.

It said the detective saw Arroyo then called in a regular cop to pull him over. He wasn't enforcing traffic laws. He could have just been driving either off duty or on some other job when he noticed him. Drunks should be kept off the streets so I think what the guy did was good. Too bad it turned out to be Arroyo. Would the Heat get stuck paying his full salary if they cut him?

Wait what? You want to cut the guy for a traffic violation that we still don't know the full story on?

That's ridiculous, he's played the best basketball for us out of the three point guards over the course of this season (and no i'm not easily fooled by 1 or 2 good games by Chalmers or Cook like most people on this board are).

Who said I wanted him cut? I asked a question about salary IF he gets cut. I don't particularly care if he's cut or not, but there is a far better chance that he DOES get cut by Riley if he was driving around drunk. It's not like he's Wade. If Smush was any good he wouldn't have been given the boot no matter how many parking attendants he beat up. Same with Arroyo.

Oh ok, my bad .. I thought you were implying we should cut him for sure.

Not sure why you're bringing up drinking here, I'm not sure how that has anything to do with this? He was driving to a Heat practice at 9 AM and their were no indication of alcohol being involved in the police report so I don't see why we'd even begin to speculate on that.Their would've been SOME mention of it in the police report had he failed a breathalyzer test or something.

Im sure there is more to the story thats going to come out on what Arroyo was doing. i just couldn't believe how inept Arroyo was last game missing Beasley at least 4 times point blank where a normal pg would have passes the ball giving Beasley an easy dunk.

Obviously some of you ahve never been hassled by the police. Its happened to me a few times esp always driving a nice car in a nice neighborhood going the speed limit.

"are you from around here" "what are you doing around here" " is this your car"

All while dreased in a suit pants button down shirt nice shoes.. obviously I was no threat.

When police say you better watch out or ill throw your a$$ in jail and you so much as even say why or what for or I didnt do anything... that right there is what they consider resisting arrest without violence. All cruisers should have video... lets see the video I say. Whenever they have to "call in reinforcements" there is no reason one of the fficers shouldnt be holding a video camer instead of a billy club.

A cyccle cop being a veh that probably has loud music on sure it might take a while to pull that veh over. Did the cop pass Arroyo with the lights on to get his attention then slow hi to a stop? I bet thats the last thing he did when it should have been the first.

I hope Arroyo was abused, stereotyped, provoked and harrased without cause so he can turn around and file a huge complaint against those officers.

You seem to miss a very important keyword that I've used in both my posts: IF :D

If we weren't allowed to speculate then this forum would be dead of all topics save for the game threads.

Edit: To further clarify, I made the drunk comment because he was driving slowly. A lot of times drunks drive slowly to avoid getting in an accident but end up causing enough problems by blocking traffic just which is what Arroyo was supposedly doing.
