I agree 100%. If there's one team that scares the **** out of me, it's Denver. They match up very well with LA, and it's not as if we mopped the floor with them last year. Assuming playoff seeding works out, I'd bet on a 7 game WCF match up with home court being the separation.

The way the Lakers can beat Denver is by going inside with Gasol and Bynum, that's where your major advantage is. If Kobe gets into a personal grudge match, and starts throwing up jumpers all night....he is playing right into Denver's hand. Sure, he may get hot and explode, but even then I'm not sure it would fatal for the Nuggets. But if he does that and doesn't have a great shooting night, that's even better.

Making it personal with Kobe is the best thing any team can do with the Lakers. Because pissed off Kobe will want to do like you say, and drop 50 on that person. Pissed off Kobe doesn't want to play the winning team basketball that won the Lakers the championship last year.
