It's funny how as I get older I don't have favorite players I have favorite teams. I don't have a favorite basketball player so when a guy is moved (from the Kings) I could almost care less about them. I don't keep up with Bibby, Artest, Miller, Peja, and I don't think anything will be different with Kevin Martin.

I feel the same way. I'm a KINGS fan. Players come and go, but the Kings are always here.

I share the same thoughts. I'll follow a player if I truely like them but I can't remember the last time that was (Chris Paul's rookie season?). In Martins case, I was honestly never big on the guy. Sure he had my support as far as developing into a player that could help the Kings, but other than that, he was never a fan favorite of mine. I was happy when he was traded not sad like when Webber or Bibby left (even though I felt it was time for Bibby to go). I'll keep a tab on his performance in HOU only to determine whether or not I felt the trade overall was a good one or not. I personally hope he continues his pattern of injuries like he did with SAC so I can sit back and laugh since its not my team he's affecting anymore...

I've only had three players that I've loved and two are dead (I really should take my cholesterol meds)! I'm a bigger baseball fan then basketball fan and I LOVED Kirby Puckett. I'm still a Twins fan, but I don't have a favorite player on the team. I'm a Bear fan, and I loved Walter Payton as well.

Anyhow...

I obviously was not a big Martin fan, but it's not like I'm going to follow the life and times of Kenny, Brad Miller, Mikki Moore, Mike Bibby, John Salmons, Rashard McCants...any of them. I don't have an emotional attachment to players like I used to as a kid.

Yeah part of it's being an adult, but also part of it is that it's hard to get an emotional attachment to guys who never were part of anything meaningful. I honestly can say I have an emotional attachment to Webber(no homo), I enjoyed watching him throw that lakers jersey on the ground the other day on NBA TV. I had one for Ron Artest until he signed with the Lakers. I'm not attached to anyone on this team though, closest would have to be Evans because he's a really fun player to watch but it's hard to care that much about players when the team is pretty much garbage. They're all expendable except Reke at the moment.

I respectfully disagree. If a player played his heart out for my team, I'd like to know if he's doing well with other teams. In this case, this player is Carl Landry.

If you're ever in town let me know...I got the hook up on tickets ;)

Thanks a lot. I wish I could make the trip. But it probably won't happen in the foreseeable future due to personal reasons. But hey, I will cheer for Landry no matter where I am.
