Re: Off Topic Thread
Still, Lopez had "20/10" written all over him. How could you pass on a 20year old 7footer who has probably the post game among all young centers in the league, and decide to pick an undersized guard, who's not even a pure point? (I still like DJ though)
But nevermind. I know this was already debated a million times.

Because he didn't have "20/10" written all over him - hence 8 other teams passing on him before we did!

Re: Off Topic Thread
I saw equal amounts of DJ and Brook that season and was happy with what I saw from both of them. I would've been pleased with either one, genuinely. When Lopez started falling I was a little concerned, but I knew what I saw, so I was stoked for us to have the ability to take him. There were a lot of reports that we were going to take Lopez so we could play Okafor at his "natural position" of PF. Obviously that would've been awful since Mek was a true, slightly undersized center. When we took DJ I was legitimately excited because it offered an alternative to Felton.
In some alternate universe Bobcat fans are pissed that we took Lopez over Augustin, who is now in Portland looking great next to Brandon Roy. Lopez is stuck finding minutes behind Okafor, because the experiment of playing them together failed miserably. The sky is still falling, it's just a different day.

Classy stuff.

They smoked Sweden in the semi's 6-1. THey have looked great - Miller in particular.
In fact right now, with Canada being 1up, is the 1st time the USA have trailed for the entire Olympic games.!!

Olympic hockey showcases just why they should frown upon flighting in the NHL rather than glorify it.
It makes it a MUCH better game.

Canada's using that 2nd wave of players so well. If there is a rebound or a loose puck there is always someone there to jump on it and create something.
