Carlos Arroyo arrested

Actually I did the 'if' that time, I just didn't think it was fair to even speculate on that when their was no indication of it and it had not been mentioned at all in any statements made about the incident. If this was like a Saturday night incident at 4 AM after a night of clubbing I'd suspect that a lot more, but a guy driving to work at 9 AM?

And yeah dolpahnitik, it's appalling that the majority of cop cars in Miami don't have those dash cams like the rest of the country do. It's not even that expensive to add them, these guys just want to be able to abuse their power without reprecussions.

Anyway, Arroyo said he'd come out on top in court so he obviously has his side of the story to tell. We'll see how it all plays out.

This is so frigging bogus it's not even funny. A lot of out of non-local Heat fans will look at this and probably side with the cops off the bat, but its the opposite for many people who actually live here.

first off, gables police aren't as bad as you guys make it sound. my brother is a gables cop, and i can say from personal experience that the fair majority of them are good people.

here's what happened:

arroyo was driving in a school zone blasting his music. an undercover cop pulled up to him and explained he was an officer and that he had to lower the volume. arroyo ignored him and drove off, blasting his music and even dancing in his seat as he drove really slow. the motorcycle cop pulled up and told him to turn his music down and drive at a normal speed. arroyo then started passing recklessly in a no passing zone. the motorcycle cop called for backup and they pulled him over again. he refused to exit his vehicle. apparently, the cop who was dealing with this is some kind of bad ass martial arts expert and somehow yanked him from his vehicle forcefully. he was booked but not really put in a holding cell.

LOL I know most of the coral gables PD....they are the best arround.
please dont talk out of your you know what if you havent had a bad experience with them.
oh and yes some abbuse the power....but to say that the entire pd does, that is rediculous.

when you try to act like a "STAR" then you probably deserve to get your but whooped, cops dont like this. arroyo is like any other person in miami. but he acted like he wasnt.

I don't live in Miami but I'm definitely not on the cop's side. I've had too many bad experiences with cops all over the world and I'm still young and definitely not a person who's a douche when the cops show up. But some of them just like it and I'm pretty sure Arroyo was not the douche but the cops were. Look at his face? Is there any reason to punch him like that?! I'm from the Phoenix area but originally from Coral Gables. I have many friends still there and when I first heard this I thought of a close friends pregnant wife who was stopped by officers for no reason. Upon asking the officer what she was being stopped for he became extremely angry and told her to get out of the car. He threatened to pepper spray her then pushed her against the car and arrested her "for resisting" arrest. This is a pregnant women who volunteers at the library to help kids read. Coral Gables cops r just crooked.
