Why I Was Jocking ROLO Before the Season

Post#1 » by JMac1 » Sat Feb 27, 2010 1:44 pm

If you guys remember our last game of the season last year, against Memphis, when Rolo had 14 and 7? He had a charging call against him, which was bogus. Rolo was rolling toawrd the basket, caught the ball at the freethrow line when a defender stepped in front of him, Rolo jumped and twisted his body (from the freethrow line), brushed the defender in the air, while floating toward the rim and made a soft floater!! The basket was waived off, but that is when I said he was a lot more agile then he appeared. Thus I wanted to bet Tastic (the doubter) Robin would avg 10 and 7 if he started.

Sometimes you really have to analyze stuff for yourself and not wait for someone to cosign on your assessment, I.e. no one will give Rolo very much credit or the Suns for what they have done this year. Why you ask? Because everyone (ESPN, Hoopsworld and TNT) said that the Suns and Lopez sucked; most people don't like eating crow, so they will just marginalized his and the Suns play.

Imagine if Bynum or Oden had a night like that in their second year. Actually, he has been having a lot of nights like that since he started, Gentry has just been pulling him too damn much!

For the people who said we should have drafted McGee, Speights and others

Robin certainly is reason to be excited but lets see how he finishes the season. I for one would like to see how he fares in the last stretch of the season and in the playoffs.

A big who makes up for Amare's lack of rebounding, and can defend the pick and roll

I'm not 100% RoLo's the guy, but I'll give credit where it's due, he's playing very well. He's scoring a lot better than I thought he could

I did mine for Nash and have wanted him dribble less and play more like Stockton for the last 2 years. Well, until the coaching staff finally saw the light with a sequence of blowing 20+ pts leads and followed my advice, I had been labeled Nash-hater. :P

Tastic, I don't want to get overly excited. I am very nervous. He is like the housing market of 04 here in Chandler. It blew up so quick, it had no where to go but down! Rob can become a better ball handler, passer, shooter and develope post moves as well. But I am like everyone else here. DON"T FORGET ABOUT DEFENSE AND REBOUNDING!!!

Rob is going to have to be capable of guarding the Gasol's and Bynum's of the world if we are going to start a new foundation of winning. I think he is soooooo perfect for the offense us Suns' fans have grown to love; ball movement and quick scoring. I really prefer to see our center get 30 and 12 without slowing the offense down, that is so cool. I hate the dump it in the post and stand around looking foolish.

Game time in 30, lets see what he does against Timmy and the Dark Side.

If he and Channing continues playing like they did in the fourth against the Clips, Rolo inside PnR and Channing the stretch 4, they could make Stat expendable. We really need to resign Stat to get some leverage for next season.
