He had legit gripes & I believe this is the first time he's publicly criticized the refs. The main thing with Drew is maturity. Giving a very quick synopsis of what is going on with him is pretty simple to me. Here is an 18 year old kid drafted right out of high school on size & potential alone. A nobody for the first two years of his career to this kid aint too bad, to man this kid has the potential to be the best center in the league & is definitely our future.
So suddenly this kid has to mature real fast & take on what it is to be a consummate professional. So without that collegiate experience, it hasn't been there so far. Even down to some of the knick knack injuries. In college especially had he gone to U Conn like he wanted to they would have been telling him things like "you gotta suck it up if you want to play at that next level" or "come on Drew, you're our leader, we need you right now"!
So now this same 22 year old kid has all those same things (except the leader part) on his shoulders without the experience to thrive in it. Most guys, once you get to the league aren't going to nurture you. They just expect you to pick it up as you go along. Right or wrong, that is what he is goig to have to do.
