Brian Westbrook wants to play for the Bears

Former Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook said Friday he would love to play for the Chicago Bears, and he's not concerned about potential concussion issues.

"I would love to play in Chicago; I would love to play anywhere," Westbrook said on "The Waddle & Silvy Show on ESPN 1000. "They have a pretty good quarterback there [in Jay Cutler]; great defense.

"There's no question that I would love to definitely play in Chicago."

And Westbrook wasn't deterred by the fact the Bears consider Matt Forte to be their No. 1 running back.

"I've admired Matt's game from afar," Westbrook said. "He's a young guy, very talented. I like the way he runs. I like the way he plays the game. He plays with a passion. He runs hard.

If he doesn't demand too much money, it would be a great signing.

He's one hit away from being completely done but, if healthy, would bring a great complement to Forte and seemingly would be a good fit for what Martz likes to run historically. He was a great RB but I don't want to have another Kevin Jones situation next year where we're stuck with Garrett Wolfe or giving Forte every single carry. It could pay off though if he proves to stay healthy enough. I wouldn't throw any sort of money at him though. If he's willing to come for dirt cheap then why not considering we definately need a backup to Forte who isn't Garrett Wolfe or Adrian Peterson.

For the right price i'd be all for giving him a chance.

Although he can catch the ball well, Westbrook is aging and is still an undersized runningback. I would be more open to this idea if we actually had a good offensive line.

yea you need a good line for westbrook to be effective, otherwise its just another old back with a bad noggin tryin to create his own holes.
