Another impressive 2 rebound game for Bargnani tonight...

That guy is awesome.

We rebounded well tonight though and have been in Bosh's absence... Bargnani's problem right now is demanding the ball... we ignore him for entire quarters and run a focal point less offense. Maybe he's more suited to be a 3rd option roamer type but we'll see

Kudos to Blatche, he is clearly outplaying Bargnani lately and establishing himself as the Wiz guy like Iggy did with the Sixers after the AI trade. With that said Bargnani outplayed him for a year and a half before this surge so I wouldn't call it yet ;)

The last time Wizards fans called it...yeah, don't think they want to be reminded.

 wow

How is this unreasonable? The ability to get to the line is what separates good PFs from great ones (or more generally, good players from great ones.) At this point, the only thing missing from Blatche's offensive arsenal is the ability to get to the FT line on a consistent basis. If he started averaging 8-9 FTs a game, how would Bosh comparisons not be appropriate?

blatche has been putting up some very nice stats and the wiz have been winning more than people thought. i thought this debate was over but i guess not.

really wish bargs would step up with bosh out.. i'm tired of the talk over him being frozen out by teammates. at some point he just has to want it

Again wow  Bosh is arguably the best PF in the game, I think it takes more than just the ability to get to the free throw line to close the gap between these two.

There is no way Blatche will get 8-9 FTAs per game. Bosh has the best first step/"drive to the rim" move for a face-up PF I have ever seen... that's how he puts up those FTA numbers. If Blatche becomes a good FT line player he'll average somewhere between 5 and 6.5 a game which is Webber, Garnett, Gasol numbers

I think at the very least Raptors and Wiz fans can agree on one thing: Thank god we don't have Michael Beasley

Bosh is clearly the best PF in the game right now, yes. But for me the reason why this is true is because he is one of the most efficient players in the game (as measured by TS%). Moreover, his impact on the game is even understated by the statistics..his ability to get to the FT line puts opposing bigs in foul trouble and also puts his team in the bonus early. This is also what Dirk provides, but with less efficiency.

Anyway, if Blatche can get to 8-9 FTs a game, he would certainly be in that conversation.

There is no way Blatche will get 8-9 FTAs per game. Bosh has the best first step/"drive to the rim" move for a face-up PF I have ever seen... that's how he puts up those FTA numbers. Fair point, I doubt he will get to even 5-6.5...but mostly because he is not a very physical player. Still, there is room for improvement. His conditioning and body tone look a bit suspect. If he puts some time in the gym this summer and changes his diet, it would greatly improve his game. He also doesn't seem to get any respect from the refs...this will change as he becomes more established. Finally, as he gains more experience being a #1 or #2 option, presumably he will learn to pick his spots better.

I like Bargs, he completely owned us a few games ago when he had like 3 blocks from 3 straight possessions late in the fourth...I just can't get over his lack of rebounding though.

All you have to do is title a thread "Bargnani vs. INSERT NAME" and it's a mortal lock. Torontans (Torontoites? Torontoese?) love their hoops.

Don't really have much input between B and B since I rarely get to see them play, but I just wanna thank Wiz management for trading away all those overpaid player and making room for Blatche. He has done wonder for my fantasy league!

Oh 36/15/4/2/2!!!!

I drafted Blatche the previous two years thinking that would happen each time, because I knew the talent was there. Drafted him this season too, but finally gave up on him. That was all he needed to erupt.

If you want to cool off any players next season, just pay me $20 and I'll draft them.

I kind of find it funny how when Bargnani took this comparison last year after his surge and pwning Blatche in that head to head match up, Wizards fans shut their mouths and Raptors fans cared less for this topic and let it died. Well we continued to give a crap about this topic for much of this year, and then it is brought up again only when Blatche is starting to string together a couple of good games and continues to be bumped up by Wizards fans.

Not saying it's bothering me, it's just ironic because we're supposedly the homers here that are always pimping up our players to every extent possible.

It was a Toronto fan who bumped this thread.

And the thread didn't die because Bargnani surged past Blatche. Bargnani just got more minutes. He posted better per game numbers while Blatche continued to post better per minute numbers. The thread boiled down to an argument over the importance of per-game versus per-minute stats. Eventually, it got boring. There was nothing new to discuss until Blatche finally got the opportunity to play extended minutes.

Thread got locked, then got unlocked by a Wizards fan after Blatche starting playing well.
