Your Predictions

Post#1 » by meatball sub » Thu Aug 30, 2007 5:54 pm

All the BCS conferences and feel free to predict some of the smaller conferences if you'd like. Let's see 'em!

ACC: Va Tech def Clemson
Big 10: Meeeeeechigan
Big 12: Texas def Nebraska
Big East: Louisville
Pac-10: USC
SEC: LSU def Florida

C-USA: UCF def Houston
MAC: CMU def Miami (OH)
MWC: TCU
WAC: Boise St.
Sun Belt: North Texas

National Champ: USC def Michigan

Heisman: Mike Hart (yea call me a homer, I'll call you a bitch).

Mike Hart IS Michigan football and has been since 2003. Everyone knows that Michigan cannot win a big game if Hart doesn't perform well. With a NC game birth, I see Hart winning the Heisman if he rushes for 1,800+ yards and has his standout games against Wisconsin and Ohio State down the stretch.

USC is going to have a couple close calls, they always do with the swagger that the team has. But Pete Carroll always makes the right calls and keeps his guys loose during crunch time. Their defense and overall speed is what will set them apart this season and will be a much bigger part of their success than any single player on their offense. Any game USC has trouble in will most likely be because their opponent gets to Booty and rattles him (since that's the only way you can stop their offense).

im just gonna be a hater and say USC doesnt win it all.

also bove everyone knows lloyd carr cant win a big game, he'll be out of a job after this season.

also hope todd dodge can turn north texas into a decent team, though there out of conference schedule is tough as hell. for those who dont know todd dodge has coached the southlake carroll dragons (best football team in the nation) and in the past 5 years is 79-1 and has 4 state titles.

Really? I know it helps when he performs well, but did you forget we have 2 really good receivers in Manningham and Arrington? Michigan has been founded on Defense and being able to run the ball down opponents throats for years. I would like to see Hart get the Heisman, but I don't think its possible. Even if he were to put up huge numbers everyone will say its because of Michigans offensive line. I do think Hart is a good strong running back, but I would have to agree with others who say his numbers are better because of who he plays for, and for that reason alone I just don't see him winning the Heisman. I do see Michigan going undefeated this year however and winning the Big10 hands down.

I'm a Michigan fan, I'm well aware that we have top notch recievers and one of the best QB's in the nation, they're all going to be a big reason for why this offense (coaches willing) will be one of the best and explosive units in the nation this year. But if Hart gets hurt like he did in 2005 or doesn't perform well (he hasn't had a bad year if healthy) Michigan won't be an elite team. Hart doesn't just put up stats, he doesn't turn it over and has been the leader of the offense since Braylon Edwards left.

Big Ten football has always been run it down your throat, grind it out, defensive football. This I agree with and believe me Hart will be the guy that will get the Heisman hype if Michigan ends the year will 0 or 1 losses and is in the NC picture. Manningham doesn't return punts/kickoffs or play defense like Woodson and Howard did so he won't be in the discussion. Henne definately could be in the mix but two guys from the same team don't normally get invited unless the offense was THAT dynamic.

People will not say that Mike Hart only puts up numbers because OL is really good, no running back can be good without a good offensive line so I don't know why you would say that. That's why a good OL is the most important thing on offense. It all begins up front and if they don't protect your QB or block for your RB your offense won't be very good.

A Michigan fan is the first person to tell me Mike Hart a product of his OL and who he plays for, I'm shocked.

I'm a Michigan fan, have been for years. But I will tell you I don't think Hart will get serious consideration for the Heisman unless he puts up huge numbers. I wasn't trying to make a case for Manningham to be considered for the Heisman, I was just stating a fact that our offense is going to be very hard to stop. But back to Hart and the rest of the past Michigan RBs. Can you name one who has won the Heisman at Michigan? None come to mind, the only 2 players I know of from Michigan to win the Heisman anytime in the recent past was Howard (long time ago) and Woodson (almost 10 years ago), neither were RBs and we've had some great RBs over the years. I guess all I'm trying to say is don't be disappointed when he doesn't get the consideration some of the other players do, because people will say Hart benefits from how strong Michigans OL is. It don't take much research to prove that we have more solid OL in the pros than we have ever produced solid RBs, I hate to say it, but its the truth. Only a few RBs from Michigan have had any career in the NFL to be proud of, Hart will be next on that list of great college RBs to not transform into a great pro RB.

The Heisman is really for QB's and RB's these days. To have a chance at another position you have to be historically dominant and I don't think Manningham is at that level.

:banghead: Ok for the last time I wasn't trying to say that Manningham should be considered, the only reason he was brought up in this conversation was to prove how good Michigan is all around on offense and how hard its going to be to shut them down. Other than that I just don't think Hart has any legit chance at getting a fair shake for consideration for the Heisman unless he puts up huge numbers, which I don't really expect to see. I think he's just a good college RB, on a historically great running team.

Thanks for bringing up the thread that makes me look like a complete jackass. If you don't already, take everything I say with a grain of salt.
