Deron Williams too concerned with being a celebrity?

Post#1 » by BarneyGumble » Tue Mar 2, 2010 4:15 pm

Disclaimer** No one is a bigger DWill fan than me. I personally believe he is playing hurt, which can explain his shooting problems the last several weeks. But what I will discuss below cannot be covered up by an injury excuse:

I believe the time has come to call out Deron Williams. Our team is on the cusp of acheiving remarkable success, and yet, Deron seems to be too interested in being a celebrity in this league. Its easy to understand why this happens; players in this league that acheive a degree of success begin to feel entitled and their work ethic often seems to slip.

Why am I busting Deron's chops now? Because I am getting extremely sick and tired of watching him argue with refs about a non-call while his man is racing down the court and scoring. Now I love Deron's game, and I think he gets the shaft BIG TIME when it comes to refs. I've never seen a man get hit in the face more to no avail from refs with the possible exception of Paul Millsap. But Deron seems now to complain about EVERY call, even the ones Kobe wouldnt get....

That being said, I dont blame this on Deron. He is a player, and players need coaching. Deron is no exception. Sloan has given Deron the keys to the team and the point guard can do no wrong in Sloan's eyes.

Personally, I would like to see Sloan yank Deron Williams when he complains. Deron needs to be reminded that you play hard always no matter what or you dont play. Whining to officials while your man scores on you is not playing hard.

I will save the turnover problems for another discussion....but the prideful hotdogging-showboating can be the cause of these turnovers. Sure, Deron pulls off some amazing plays from time to time....but lately, I dont remember these plays as much as I remember seeing "4 turnovers" in his box score line pretty much every single game.

I still think Deron's great. But I liked him alot more when he didnt feel entitled to everything; and allow that attitude to carry over to his game...

If I'm ever in a coma, and I want to know if the Jazz won or lost without actually being told who won or lost, all I need to do is see how many Jazz Lemmings posted threads on RealGM.

Are you sure you aren't in a coma already? With a post like this, it would be hard to tell the difference...

DWILL's attitude at allstar game surprised me. He was fair from humble at his selection therefore. He choked last night which doesnt bother that much. Choking happens to the best of them, but he needs to bear down so a run can be made and ever since the Brewer trade, he seems disgusted with the Jazz front office as such is not trying as hard. No Brewer trade and the Jazz have at least 2 more wins right now as DWILL would not be moping and be disinterested throughout the game.

Villian is both DWILL for not being professional and Jazz management for being cheap.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

While I doubt that's the case if that is the case then that would make him a total p***y. The Jazz have lost to crummy teams on the road the entire time Brewer has been on the team. He was not the deciding factor before or after.
