I'm thinking that if he's there with the Utah pick(assuming we don't trade it or something) we should take a look at James Anderson. He seems like he'd be a nice player in the pro's, and he could space the floor. He isn't a great ballhandler yet, but he averages a good amount of fts, and can make threes.

Team needs haven't been taken into account.

I think Monroe and Anderson are better prospects than Robinson and Lucas.

I've read that and said that so many times already this season

I caught some of the Fresno State-San Jose State game. Awful shooting night for Paul George. After he missed a few shots he just stopped shooting or trying to do anything but pass (he's a somewhat underrated passer), which was discouraging. Still, it was kind of cool. Every time he missed a shot he'd get pissed off and go make a great play on defense. There was one particularly nice one when one of the SJSU players tried to dunk on him and he just went up and snatched it out of the guy's hand.

Him, James Anderson or Xavier Henry with the CHA pick, please.

I like George and Anderson has been growing on me as the conference season has gone on, but I'll be VERY happy if we get Henry with the Charlotte pick.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

It depends on the first pick. If we get Turner, I would roll with Sanders. If we get screwed with ping pong balls and end up with Favors, Davis, or Aldrich... then roll with Henry.

George is interesting, but my favorite choice for the utah pick is Vanardo just for the hell of it.

I think the team has to go with 2 wings with its first few picks. They're so thin there it's not funny while the big man positions are covered (well, more covered then the wings).

I really want to love Xavier Henry, he slumped a month ago, but now he's picking it up again. The problem is I'm not confident his game is any more diverse than Morris Peterson/JR Smith. Not necessarily a horrible value for a late lotto, but the temptation is to feel like you could do better.

I'm kind of in the same boat. He's got that huge frame that could be put to good use around the rim, I'm just not sold that he'll find a way to consistently get there.

It's tough for me to gauge the George/Anderson/Henry group, other than looking at it and thinking the CHA pick is a good place to grab a shooter.

Henry's the youngest and the biggest, but also the least athletic.

Anderson's the best player of the three, and also the oldest and the smallest.

George is as tall as Henry, but skinnier, either he or Anderson is the best athlete, and age-wise he's right in between Anderson and Henry.

At this point I can't decide between George or Anderson. Anderson's been on fire since conference play began, but George has shown signs that he has an eff you switch (basically the ability to get pissed off then go make a play because of it). The last T-wolves player with an eff you switch was KG. It would be nice to have another guy with one.

From Draftexpress' twitter:
Some more potential early-entrants: Renardo Sidney, Armon Johnson, William Buford, Dominique Jones, Darington Hobson, Jordan Crawford, +more
2010-02-28 12:59:08

(potential 2010 early-entrants:) Jordan Hamilton, Tyshawn Taylor, Chris Singleton, Malcolm Lee, Eric Bledsoe, Aaric Murray, Luke Babbitt
2010-02-28 12:57:11

While I doubt all of them stay in I think this new limited testing the waters timeframe could be interesting and make for a much deeper draft then before. And especially with the lack of point guards I could see both Bledsoe and Taylor going A LOT higher then they should under normal circumstances.

Draft Hopes as of March 3rd, 2010

Our Pick #2 - Evan Turner

Perfect fit and second best talent.

Utah Pick #24 - Gani Lawal

Strong defender and post player who is undersized to play centre but will at least give his all at that spot.

PG - Flynn/Sessions
SG - Turner/Ellington
SF - Brewer/Gomes
PF - Jefferson/Love
C - Hollins/Lawal

Rights to Rubio and Pekovic
Charlottes pick extended to next season (I beleive still top 12 protected)
Salarycap space for free agents/trades
"That's why the last two years weren't guaranteed," Walsh said. "Either way, he knew it could have happened either way."

I don't necessarily think so.

IMO we should do all we can to grab Turner and draft a C with Charlotte's pick (best thing would be to trade up for Aldrich) unless Darko returns next season...

By the way, our draft pick is top 10 protected next season, too. Unless we make a really big turnaround (which would require adding another wing in the FA or by trade) in the offseason we will get it next year, too. Next years draft seems to be a lot better in terms of wings...you've got Harrison Barnes and Perry Jones and a few other wings who look nicely.

Not sure we need another center in a power forwards body. Personally I would much rather just sign Pekovic, and roll with Hollins/Love/Jefferson/Pekovic. Not good defensively, but I would much rather focus all our draft picks on wing players than draft more guys who cant really guard 7 footers.

Now if an athletic big were to fall than that is fine, but for me I would be ok going into next season with Pekovic plus two more wings(preferably a 1 wing that can shoot).

If we could get Turner then Harrison Barnes I think I'd cream everyone's pants.

But you hit the nail on the head. Darko has looked good enough to be a part of the team going forward and assuming he wants to stay he'd be better then anyone else in the draft, so a lot depends on how keen he is to stay.

Personally I don't see the appeal of Aldrich. Yeah he's a safe pick but that's not what this team needs. Whiteside might have more risk but his potential reward is so much higher I'd rather the team go for him then Aldrich who honestly looks like he's peaked.

Whiteside has more potential but IMO - Aldrich would fit great next to Love and Al/Pekovic and is a safe pick. :D

Btw. if we get Barnes and Turner I will immediately move to Minneapolis :D

Aldrich/Jefferson(Pekovic)
Jefferson/Love (Pekovic)
Barnes/Brewer
Turner/Ellington
Rubio/Flynn/Sessions

Amazing

Is Barnes likely to be in this draft? I thought he would be in 2011.

I'm kind of liking the idea of Whiteside to play with Pekovic and Love.

Barnes is a high school senior, he will not be in this draft. I think the implication is that we would get him next year.
