Most Over-Rated/Under-Rated

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Wed Mar 3, 2010 8:49 pm

Who do you think are the most over-rated and under-rated Utah Jazz Players on their current roster?

My Opinion:

Under-Rated: Fess as Sloan doesnt play him enough and he has alot of talent, and Millsap, as I even under-rate him, but when given minutes he plays consistent allstar Basketball

Over-Rated: Korver's shooting ability which is better than most Jazz players but average compared to SG/SF in the league, and Matthews, whom everyone on this board loves for his defense, but he is under-sized, lacking athletic ability, and simply should be a bench player that plays 10-15 min per game instead of starting for a top 4 seed in the western conference.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

how can deron williams be considered as overrated? He's barely mentioned in MVP-talks and only a 2time all-star even though he's the best or 2nd best point guard in the league.

Over-Rated Millsap. Give him starter minutes and he crumbles. he is undersized for his position and opponent PF light him up, but everyone wanted him to be our starter and to ship out boozer for a bucket of KFC.

Underrated Korver. The best shooter on our team, a top 10 Per when it comes to shooting guards in the league yet he is often sloans last thought at the 2 guard.

d will is a 1 time all star and korver is shooting almost 59% from 3.....memo is over rated..he sucks.. he looks like an old man with no finess out there trying to play basketball...hes a liability most of the time when hes on the court...i know he has injury problems and didnt used to be this bad necessarily but damn we need a big athletic mother effer to take over his spot

Ronnie Price underrated! HAHA! He is currently ranked #30 in true shooting % for qualidied PGs (.484). Let that sink in. He is the worst player on the roster. In what way are we under rating him? Not appreciating his horrible shooting? Or maybe it's how well he runs the offense? Or is it crashing the boards on missed FT's and watching his man score layups? He must just bust his ass so hard in practice that Sloan has to throw him a bone to show everyone else they need to play hard. He has no business playing in the NBA. He is so bad he is making me miss Carlos Arroyo. Jason Hart, Keith McCleod, Brevin Knight, please anyone but Ronnie Price!

Deron overrated! Love it!

With Brew gone I guess it's Matthews.

For the most part people rate people about right around here. It's not like Memo has been getting a ton of praise this year. Most underrated? Probably will end up being CJ but he deserves his lack of enthusiasm too.

Most underrated: making valid points.

lol at that! I'm clearly not a Deron Williams bandwagoner, but c'mon man... if it wasn't kind of funny it would be kind of ludicrous!

Korver's shooting is not overrated. He's shooting something like 85% from three in the fourth quarter this year. He's insane late in games.

There's a good reason he isn't mentioned in MVP talks. Check the productivity (efficiency ratings) on NBA.com. Lebron James is so far in front of the field that there is not even discussion of a runner-up. The three guys on the second tier are Duncan, Bosh and Howard. Behind them, in the five and six spots, are David Lee and Carlos Boozer. You'd have to go dozens of places down the list to DWill's efficiency per 48 standing. If you believe that DWill is even the best player on the Jazz, you have to "just feel that way", because it doesn't show up in the stats. It was Carlos' efficiency that earned him Player of the Month for the conference.
