This is why I wish we had another point guard. If Goran is out, then Nash has to play even if he's injured.

if he is hurt he should just sit! its better for the team to learn to win in these types of situations. the suns were doing okay vs utah when he was in foul trouble. Nash's greatest asset to the team is his offense and if he cant play he just should not.

Why is Lopez not finishing games? It's is a trend that seems to get more frustrating as the season goes on.

when youre up by 10 going into the 4th, you dont put your soft perimeter shooting center on the court, you put your defensive blocker-rebounder-stopper on the court.

We didnt need a 3 point bomber, we needed to slow it down and kill their offense.

I dont get it.

I dont get it.

Agreed. Frye allowed Boozer and Okur to do what ever they wanted in the paint, forcing everyone to back off the outside shooters.

This game was frustrating because you can see flashes of how good the Suns could be. At times they look like the best team in the league and then turn into one of the worse. I've always said we were and still in a way are a couple of trades away from being one of the best in the league.

I think if you get someone like Camby, Kirilenko,Kaman or someone to take Jrich's place it instantly makes us better. I like Frye but he doesn't even try on defense. We may not be natural defenders but everyone always seems to try. Frye doesn't even attempt to challenge any shots. Lopez or Amundson should have been put in.

We should sign Mike James to a 10-day. If he works well, sign him for the rest of the season.

I can believe we allowed our depth chart to get so thin. We're already only two deep at both PG and SG.

This was a huge problem during the Suns championship runs. We had no depth at the guard positions which was one of the reasons why the suspensions hurt so much.

I agree that we need more depth but if they weren't willing to pay for it back then what makes you think they'd do it now?

D'antoni wasn't willing to play anymore than 7 players. Gentry is different. I think Sarver would pay the tax on a pro-rated vet. min. if Gentry convinced him he could make it to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

The money side of things would more than play to Sarver's favor in that scenario.

No way should Frye be playing when we need defense, still if he is hot like he was the other night his lack of D is not as big of a liability.
He really needs to work on his lower body strength or something because he keeps getting pushed around on D even by players much shorter than him.

No, just the trade deadline.

You can sign a FA at any point, like what CLE will do with Ilgauskas here shortly.

That's exactly what I've been saying this whole time. Frye is a good player off the bench and all but he's not a guy we should be playing late in games. We should be bunkered down and try to protect the lead instead of bombing away from the 3's and play no defense. Even after Lopez had become the uber efficient starter and warrants more minutes, Gentry still prefers to play Frye over him. The last 5 games Rolo is playing just over 21 minutes a game if you don't count the game where he played 37 minutes and dropped a career high. He isn't in foul trouble and he's shooting a hair under 50% in that stretch. The only reasons Frye should be playing big minutes in the 4th is if he's absolutely on fire from the 3, Lopez is fouled out or in major foul trouble or if it's a critical possession and we know the other team is going to foul.

It just completely baffles me how much Gentry loves to play Frye, I just don't get it.

The end of this game reeked of our form before the all star break.

Weird thing is that Frye has the best +/- on the team haha.

In another ruling, Suns General Manager Steve Kerr said center Robin Lopez's flagrant foul on Utah forward Andrei Kirilenko's breakaway Thursday was upgraded by the league to a Flagrant Foul 2, which would have meant ejection. A Flagrant Foul 1 is considered "unnecessary." A Flagrant Foul 2 is considered "unnecessary and excessive."
