Wear your Cavalier snuggies or your WTF blankets at the Q..

The Cleveland Cavaliers will attempt to set a new Guinness World Record by getting as many fans as possible to wear a Snuggie during their home game against the Detroit Pistons on Friday.

The record the Cavaliers are hoping to break is for the “Largest Gathering of People Wearing Fleece Blankets.” Team members will be giving each of the 20,000 fans expected at the March 5 matchup free Snuggies before the game. The popular gift item will be draped over every seat and fans must wear the blanket for the first five minutes of the game.

“The Cavs ‘XL’ season keeps getting bigger and bigger with this attempt to set a Guinness World Record. Partnering with KeyBank and Snuggie blankets to create an event where our fans are an integral part of the success to give Cleveland the bragging rights of a Guinness World Record makes it a community team effort that is all the more fun,” says Cavaliers President Len Komoroski said.

Also expected in attendance at Friday’s game? Snuggie creator Scott Boilen, who says he’s tickled that the Cavs’ are incorporating the popular body blankets into this world record event.

Snuggie’s sold approximately 20 million units in 2009.

Haven't done these in a while... But whatever. There were no good looking cheerleaders but here is Vida Guerra instead.

Took from RCF.

I think I went to school with her... :D

But I hope the the Cavaliers don't play down to these lesser teams from here on end. I rather have the Caves lose to a title condender team then to a lottery team...

You should have tried and get with her.

The worst opponent the Cavs have lost to this season was the Wizards.. I can't see the Cavs losing much from here on out. There will be some difficult ones to win, but there is no doubt that we can finish with HCA throughout the playoffs. As for the game, I am expecting for it to be a blowout, seeing how much of a mess the Pistons are.

I wonder what game isn't televised? ;)

But yes, it is on ESPN. For some reason, it feels like there hasn't been many Cavs games televised on there this season.

We get to play another team that stinks but also thinks that they'd be better than we are sans LeBron. It'd be nice to have one of our centers to play in this game but alas it is not so.
The whole Wallace/Jerebko frontcourt is an absolute abomination. I see no threat there at all.

Actually, Detroit has some talent. It's just a horribly put together team.

I still can't believe Dumars spent most of their capspace on Gordon, Villanueva, and extending Rip.

Yeah, imagine if we would have signed Villanueva in the offseason as our "stretch 4". Then, we wouldn't have gotten Jamison!

The game starts in about 30 minutes or so. And some update...

I wish I had my Cavs Snuggie, but those guys at the Q look like a bunch of monks with them on.

As if he makes much of a difference but Ben Wallace is out which means that Detroit is that much more shorthanded. They are undersized as is. This game should be a blowout, which of course means it'll go down to the wire.

I swear watching JJ vs Wallace would have been fun.

There has to be more than one person putting out Snuggies on the seats.
