Jason Terry: Fan? Foe? Indifferent?

Just wanted to see what people thought of Jason Terry, a former Hawk.

I liked the guy when he was in Atlanta. I generally root for him as long as Dallas isn't playing the Hawks. I hope he doesn't get sidelined for too long with this orbital fracture injury.

What say you? Fan of Jet? I want to say that he's one of the more underappreciated PG/SGs out there.

I think most of us remember his game fondly. What we never enjoyed was the way he acted on his way out of Atlanta...

He is still a very productive player and we didn't get crap when we traded him. Another boneheaded move by BK.

A really nice player, but I can't really say I like him, especially when he hits a meaningless 3-pointer, wave his arms and smiles/laughs at the camera. Looks like he plays for himself instead of the team.

I liked Jason Terry. He always had good charisma & it was fun to follow his development as opposed to the other busts & boring retreads that Babcock brought in like Glen Robinson,Jim Jackson,Shareef,etc.

Not a fan, but not unexpected as he was with the Hawks as they spiraled downward (rock bottom was the year after he was gone). By the end of his rookie deal it was clear he needed to go because he had been tainted by the losing in Atlanta and it showed on the court.

His draft year was the year we had 4 1st rounders. We traded up to get him. Bowdler and Glover were flops and Jumaine Jones was serviceable late in the first, but we traded him for a 1st the following year (which was bundled with another 1st to get Lo Wright (the 1st time). Looking back and our transactions around that time it is no surprise that the team spiraled downward.

After he received an offer from the Jazz, he asked us to not match it, saying he wanted out. Later, when we traded him, he talked about how happy he was to be away from us and he spoke disparagingly about the franchise.

What we "got" in return for trading him was Antoine Walker's expiring contract, which gave us the cap freedom to sign Joe Johnson, so that part went well.

Can't blame him for wanting to leave ATL. We were a complete disaster when he left.

Being a DIRK fan I am indifferent to Jet. He jacks up a lot of shots and is usually a good 4th quarter shooter/scorer, but some games he just keeps on chucking even if he is off. That's irritating. Jet trade worked out well for both Atlanta and Dallas though.

I first saw Terry when he was a Hawk, and became a fan. He's a good player, and his style of play could fit in with most teams.
