OT: Arizona Cardinals...

Post#1 » by Qwigglez » Sat Mar 6, 2010 3:18 am

I don't pay much attention to rumors involving the Cardinals or anything, so can someone please enlighten me on to what their game plan is for next season?

Boldin is old and injury-prone so they traded him to Baltimore for some draft picks. Karlos Dansby was a UFA and the Dolphins offered him 40+ mil and he signed there. LMAO at the Giants making Antrell Rolle the highest paid safety in NFL history. The NFL is hilarious.

As for next year they have a good young core of recievers with a potentially dominate RB in Beanie Wells. The defense will be key. They now have the salary relief to re-sign Dockett and pick up some young talent on D via the draft or free agency.

Leinart is the key...

So far Cards management is making Kerr/Sarver look competent...

I was all for seeing them trading Boldin but they basically traded him for peanuts, if they couldn't get a second rounder couldn't they have at least traded first round picks with eachother? I know they only draft one spot ahead of the Cards but that's all it takes to not get the player you want.

Even though Dansby got overpaid I still think they should have signed him, he was an important part of their defense.

As for Rolle, I'm fine with seeing him go but couldn't they have traded him for draft picks instead of letting him walk for nothing?

Yeah I'm all for seeing how Leinart does, here's hoping he surprises us but if not the 2011 draft has alot of QB's

Was a smart move the Cards made. Q wanted more money and the Cards had two cheaper Q's.

Our wide receivers are good, it's our defense I'm worrying about now. But still, like MVF said, we should have gotten better picks for Boldin.

Oh and check out this article my friend wrote. http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2010/03/0 ... sey-shore/

Wonder if their planning to trade up in the draft, they have two third rounders and two fourth rounders...

Yeah they would probably be better off getting a backup QB through FA or even trading a late pick to another team for a backup, this is a weak QB class all the way around, hopefully they can wait till 2011 if they plan to draft one but who knows maybe Leinart is the answer.

Rolle and Dansby are good players, but not worth anywhere close to what they're getting paid. The Cards might suffer this season because of it, but I think they'll be better off in the long-term.

Calm down everyone who is stressing about this, don't be so short-sighted!

Agreed, I actually like the way the team is handling this off season. With Warner gone, unless we get McNabb, It's tough to see us competing for a title THIS YEAR and are a borderline Playoff team.

These moves set us up for 2011 when our picks should be able to contribute and there is by all accounts a much stronger FA class. And by then we should know if Leinart is legit.

I hate to see these guys go but it's the nature of the biz and the teams that overpay for players typically dont win in the NFL. Look at the Pats, Colts and Steelers and ask yourselves if they would have kept Rolle or Dansby at that price.

On a side note I am bummed to see Boldin go, since his rookie year he's been my favorite player along with Warner and Favre and I hate to see him leave. I Love watching him bowl over DB's like they are kickers. I'll miss him in red.

Letting Dansby go was a mistake, but one Miami will enjoy.

Leinart still is the best QB in the NFC west, I would rather have him over Alex Smith, Hasselback and Bulger or whoever plays QB for the Rams next year. That's just inside the division and there are plenty outside that I would take Leinart over.

NEW YORK - The New York Jets traded safety Kerry Rhodes to the Arizona Cardinals for a fourth-round pick in this year's draft and a seventh-rounder in 2011.

So basically the trade was Boldin for a 3rd rounder and Rhodes now, not bad if you think about it that way.

According to the Jets' fans on the Knicks board they say Rhodes is a good player. He was a big part of their defense who was #1 in the NFL last year... So i guess it's a good move.

Jason La Canafora (sp?) on the NFL Network just brought up a great point. Donnie Henderson, our current DB coach, was with the Jets when they drafted Rhodes and was there during Kerry's best year (2007).

That makes this trade even better. Rhodes was one of the best young safeties with Henderson and now they reunite. I am positive Henderson had a lot of input on this.

I think 4 years

Looks like Rhodes has some hoops skills...With Barbosa and Dragic being out maybe the Suns can sign him for vets minimum before football season starts
