the parallels between rose yr 1, rose yr 2 and durant yr 1, durant yr 2 are eerie.

if durant is the template, we should be incredibly stoked about next year based on how KD is doing this year.

we just need to pray to God almighty in the sky that we deliver a gift for this kid in the summer.

Derrick might go for 22 ppg on the year. Could he be a PG version of Wade??? People act like Wade is so much bigger than Rose, but he is only listed as being one inch taller and I believe that Rose is more athletic and gets up a little higher. Wade's numbers are a tad better than Rose's are through both of their first two years, but remember that Wade spent a couple of years at Marquette and even had a redshirt year. GarPax just needs to go get somebody like the late-prime Shaquille O'Neal that Wade had and we'll be all gravy.

It should be 3.7 RPG. Don't do that to our baller. ;)

(3.66 is still 3.7. Check http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... ede01.html)

Wade was a PG his first year and before Riley took over in his 2nd season. After Riley fired Stan and took the head coaching job he moved Wade to SG and put Jason Williams in the starting line up. So actually Rose could end up being our SG.

Most people on here say no to him being a SG but a title is just a title, on the court he would primarily handle the PG duties during the important parts of the game just like Wade, Kobe, and LBJ do now.

If anyone tries to diss Derrick Rose as overrated in the future, I will use this quote to prove them wrong.

lol a lot of coaches and players are saying stuff like this about Rose:

-Jim O'brian said he thinks Rose will "soon" be the best point guard in the league..
-Eric Spoelstra said something along the same lines and said Derrick is the LeBron James of point guards
-Last year in the playoffs Marc Jackson mentioned Rose in the same sentence as Magic Johnson and said Rose is "that special"
-I know after the Dallas loss Rick Carlisle was talking about how good Rose was and how he almost single handedly beat the Mavericks by himself lol
-Chris Paul's been singing Derrick's praises for a while
-so has Kobe, chauncey, dwayne wade etc.
so many more people and coaches that I just can't think of right now but everybody's really been hyping Derrick up..hopefully he can live up to it.
lol and I think it's worth mentioning that after Kobe dunked on Dragic, Rudy Gay was very twitter-happy lol

Derrick Rose is a guard without "3 point range." Meaning, well, accurate range. There are a lot of those guards in this league. Russell Westbrook, Tony Parker, Devin Harris, TJ Ford, Ramon Sessions, Dwyane Wade, Rodney Stuckey, Andre Miller, Dahntay Jones, Monta Ellis, Tyreke Evans. You know an interesting fact about those guys?

Not one has a efg% on jump-shots that even comes close to Rose's 45.6%.

I don't think there's a better one of these mid-range guards than Rose. If you see one I left out, let me know.

I think it bodes quite well for the development of his 3-point shot. A shooter that talented from midrange will be able to translate sooner or later.

His progress on the mid-range has been unreal. Pretty much when he steps into those 18 foot jumpers I'm expecting him to make it more often than not if he has a clean look. He was scoring in all sorts of ways against the Mavs, inside and out. I really think he'll start shooting 3's next year, probably around 33%, which is effective enough to make him a threat.

I'll go ahead and make a sig bet that Mikal is better by RPM this year than Zach.

I'm guessing this coming summer, that's the main thing he'll work on, is a 3pt shot. Then next season, No more Mr. Nice Guy! :starwars He'll be even more of a joy to watch.

In all seriousness, he's about as effective a midrange shooter as Rip Hamilton's been for the last two years. It's in all likelihood a top 10 midrange game in this entire league, but somehow Luol Deng IS the master of the midrange, and Derrick Rose needs to get his jumpshot to a point where it's consistent.

Yeah. Right.
