In the piston board, they are cursing rockets for not wining this game.

KM really showing that he can't be a go-to scorer for us..
He can't create. If people are biting on his pumpfake, he's shut down.
He has one cross over dribble move, and lives off the pumpfake. He's really got terrible ball-handling skills, as shown by the travels he gets called for every game and how he always picks up his dribble
And that pump-fake to pass is really annoying me..

Which is why an AB and KM back-court will always fail. Move Brooks to the bench and have him be a Jason Terry-lite plug or trade him while his value is still high

Lowry's value went up with each game he missed

Sometimes a few bad calls by the refs, and a few bad plays like the one with battier fast break, and to's and misses by ab, is the difference in a game

Martin is not effective in isolation situations. Sure, he can able to score once in a while but it is not all that great.
He is much more dangerous if the Rockets ran a double screen for Martin or a weakside screen and let Martin pop a jumper. Essentially, off the ball for Martin.

I didn't see the game but I agree with you 100%. People on here are expecting Martin to be a Kobe Bryant/Dwyane Wade type of scorer when he isn't. He's a number 2 option and he should be used off the ball coming off screens. They should basically use him exactly how the Pacers used Reggie. He's not the shooter that Reggie was, but he could make up for that with his ability to pump fake and get to the rim.

The problem is he stand around way too much on offense to become the player that Reggie was...
Stands on the perimeter, catches the ball, pump fake, if his man doesn't bite, he passes it to someone else....
He really needs to move more, curl around screens for jumpers, he looks way too lazy out there.

I'm sure he'd move around a lot more if Adelman asked him to and if he improved his stamina. He needs to spend more time on the treadmill. The only problem with that is that he might get even skinnier than he is now.

Re: Rockets vs. Pistons 3/7/10 Game Thread
like I said when Rockets signed Kevin Martin, having Brooks and Martin at the same time on the floor would hurt the team greatly. It should be AB-Ariza or Lowry-Martin, but Brooks and Martin together is an ego clash, and to make it worse, an ego clash with no D at all. Obviously, Rockets have no other options due to Lowry and Ariza injuries, so I guess Adelman really doesn't have many options. Plus, they really can score, so it's not like you won't use them on OT. Now, the problem is AB isn't exactly great at clutch time (Martin is way better, btw), and if they're fighting to see who makes another basket while providing 0 defense, well.... results at sight.
In short, without Ariza and Lowry, if Rockets don't define the game before the end, winning games is just a question of luck, because you know they won't win on talent alone.
Personally, I'd draw the plays so guards look for Scola or Hill. I'd trust them 10 times more to at least get a FT chance than AB and Martin throwing bricks.
btw, this:
just after Prince gave Houston the chance to win or tie the game when he missed both FT with 11 seconds to play. I don't know if Adelman made that play, but quite frankly, I really doubt it.
Anyway, a shame to be closing the season this way after such a great season in which everybody expected Rockets to tank or at least to be killed. Although Rockets still may make play-offs, I don't think it will be worthier than going for lottery

That's a crock of **** if ever I heard it. Landry is the man. No one I have seen comes close to what he has to offer.

Dude get over it already. Whats done is done. I miss Landry as well, he was my favorite Rocket too (except for T-Mac that is). The NBA is a business. To get a quality player you have to give up one. Martin fills a bigger hole for this team than Landry did.
You know there is a reason why Landry came off the bench right? Got any ideas? Oh yeah, we've got some dude named Luis Scola who is a SUPERIOR player than Landry.
So in the great words of Eddie Murphy, "Smile. Have a coke. And shut the f*ck up!!"

But seriously man, you've got to get over it.

I don't understand your fascination with Landry. He is a great player, but you make it seem like he's Tim Duncan 2.0.

Apparently Landry has some mighty tasty balls.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.
