Quick question

Post#1 » by Godzilla039 » Tue Mar 9, 2010 10:50 am

I don't know about the Lakers cap situation, but I think Kobe will be an unrestricted free agent after this season. If he hasn't reached a deal around the time where free agents will be signing contracts, could the Lakers offer a max deal to one of the free agents? If they could, would you like for the Lakers to lock up younger talent like Lebron (or) Wade or sign a 30+ Bryant?

.. not trying to start beef, just wondering.

EDIT: I just noticed he has a player option. The stipulation for this hypothetical situation is based on the notion that he declines the option and opts out.
Just a must-watch army of possessed ass-kickers laying the smack down night after night after night. People are gonna hate playing the Bulls this year.

How can we offer a max deal to anyone else when we are over the cap even without Kobe.

to be honest youth means nothing! players get old really quick in the league. i want to win now and worry about the future when it arrives. no one is guaranteed a trip or repeat trip to the finals.
Only on realgm is 27,000 points, 5 rings, 1 rs mvp and 2 finals mvp considered overrated!

Forget about Kobe going anywhere. If the Lakers are going to get in on the free agent sweepstakes this summer, it will be Andrew Bynum as the focal point in a sign-in-trade package.

Kobe ain't leavin. It's that simple.

People never bring this up, but it's why I say Bron is never leaving Cleveland.

Once you have 8 years service and have become an UFA with that team, you qualify for the No-Trade Clause. Kobe couldn't get that elsewhere, just like Bron coudln't. He would be eligible midway through his next contract.

Athletes are humans too. They like the security of knowing their family will be in one place.

VERY few players have these, and they are incredibly valuable. Kobe ain't leavin, and that's a huge reason why

Lols.. Wade and Bosh have the same crap, but they're bound to leave. Stop making over-generalizations.
