The only good thing about that game last night was getting to watch Jordan Hill play his first significant minutes in the NBA. I think that the guy is rough around the edges, but he could be something special.

Good pick up by the Rockets.

agree.

was vaguely worried re: the rumblings from the Knicks' board about his hands, 'cause athletic bigs with bad hands turn into Kwame Brown. But he seemed alright. Grabbed some boards in traffic and stuff. Also, I liked having a big that was tall enough that Maxiel couldn't jump over to grab a 'bound without getting called for over-the-back. Hopefully Adelman gives him some steady burn from here on out.

He can rebound, he can run the floor, he's athletic and he can even shoot a little from the oustide. I don't expect him to be a star but theres no reason why he can't be a serviceable big in the NBA.

Not that impressive. I like him as a replacement for David Andersen potentially. But I do not like him as a backup Center. I still wish the Rockets had Dorsey.

Needs to get stronger without bulking up too much so he doesn't lose his speed. What did Bosh do over the offseason?

Hill is going to be a project player no doubt, but he has more potential (god I hate using this word) than Landry.

He is not even close, nor will he ever be a Carl Landry. And you all think I smoke crack!

Jordan Hill can be as good as Landry if not better.

Key words: "can be".

As long as he works hard and not be a headcase, i think he can make us forget Landry's contributions come next season.

Anderson should be traded should a decent deal comes along.

carl landry isnt some player you can pick up anytime. i dunno if hill will be as good as landry, but his can make him better at rebounding and defense, not much bigger tho, weighs less just one inch taller , but of corse he can get bigger

I thought it was nice for a change to see one of our big guys not look small next to the other team's big guys. He was going toe to toe with Kwame Brown. He looks the part that is for sure. I also like the way he was able to hold his own against a phyiscal player like Jason Maxiell. He is rough around the edges, no doubt, but I liked what I saw. With a little more work, I think he can develop into a good player. He played solid defense and crashed the boards well. I think he is already ahead of Hilton Armstrong and David Anderson.

Landry was nothing special at first either until he was able to go through the Rox workout program. They are definitely different types of players so I would avoid the comparison although production wise, I think Hill could wind up comparable with a few less points and a few more rebounds. From a game perspective, I would compare Hill to a more Joe Smith type of guy.

Remember how Carl Landry increased his vertical during the off season, I wouldnt be that suprised if Hill bloomed after summer like Landry.
