He shouldn't have qualified. When you have to take the SAT a second time to meet the minimum requirement for the school, which is set at an 830 on the old scale, something is wrong.

Bill Walker is playing NCAA hoops at Kansas State despite never passing one class in HS--I think they can find a way to get this kid onto the field if he really wants to go there.

He also got arrested for a suspended license and driving the wrong way. If you're good at whatever sport you play, you can do almost whatever you want to an extent. Sadly King is no different than so many other great players.

Nope it was the SAT. It was reported several times in Atlanta.

And that is what makes me mad. I have gotten into arguments with my sister about that. I feel that Universities are education first, education second, education third, developing students into members of society forth, then sports are 5th. However you have some athletes (I refuse to call them students) who don't work hard in high school like other athletes do then get an escorted walk into college while they take the place of a student who actually worked hard in high school and is trying to get an education by working hard. Schools are starting to move their focus away from education and become sports oriented.

Rivals isn't helping it either posting the 40 times, bench, squat and what not. Why not a gpa score also?

Athletes are working hard on what they do though to get division I scholarship
First the federal government borrowed money; then gave the money to Bank of America; then I borrowed some of that money from Bank of America and gave it to the federal government; then the federal government gave the money back to Bank of America.
