HELP: Tickets behind bench; plus some other questions!

Post#1 » by fahkin » Tue Jan 12, 2010 10:15 pm

First off, it is great to see there be some energy regarding the Kings. It seems like it has been forever since there was something positive coming from there - I don't mean that in a bad way as I can definitely sympathize. Hopefully Mayor KJ can help get the city a new arena.

I am going to be in the Sacramento area for work and wanted to catch a game or two. I came across, on ticket master, some seats. I wanted to sit courtside, but I'm too cheap to spend $900 per ticket. I came across these seats and thought they were awesome.

Section 113 - Row AAA - $165 each.
I found this pic from the arco arena website.

These say they are right behind the visitor bench. Can someone confirm if they are close or if they are set back quite a bit. Is this a good spot to sit? I don't watch a lot of Kings games, just the league highlights, and I can't seem to recall seeing this information. I think that being close to visitor bench would be cool. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, is there a better place to buy tickets? Craigslist is craigslist, I am looking for something or some company more legit so I don't get screwed (even if I pay a tiny bit more).

Next, if it works out that my wife and infant son join me, can I bring my infant to the game on my lap?

Lastly, how much time should I budget to get to the game from Lincoln/Roseville area? Does the game add a lot of congestion? Stupid question, but should I eat beforehand or is there decent food at Arco Arena? Are there scalpers that I could use to pick up last minute tickets (not my preference, but for last minute, you don't have many options)?

thanks in advance.

It will take at least an hour to get there. Probably at another hour to get tickets and get in. So at least 2 hours early. Unless you are eating. There are lots of restaurants just north of ARCO on 99 on the same side. With food 2 and a half.

The box office would have tickets probably worst case. Scalpers are usually legit, just make sure. You can probably call the box office and make sure your ticket is good before hand if you get them way ahead of time. Most of the time they are fine. But there are always exceptions.

Call the box office about your infant. You don't have to buy a seperate plane ticket until 2, my duaghter turns 2 next week. I have never taken her to a game yet.

As for your tickets, try Tickethub. If you're really desperate, try Craigslist. Scalpers are usually around the opposite side of the box office or near the entrance and are usually abundant during games that don't matter, but recently the arena has been getting filled to capacity. Last time I went, the Box Office was packed, and I mean PACKED. I would advise you to get the tickets.

thanks. I will be sure to leave early.

If my son will be coming, I will call the box office. I am sure it is ok, as it is in other arenas, but you never know.

I will look at tickethub as well. I will avoid the box office at all costs, I hate lines...

Thanks.

I never had any probs using Craigslist. I just go to the same sellers every time and I get them well below face value.

Those look like pretty awesome seats. I sat courtside once and it was absolutely one of the most amazing experiences of my life. But as for your seats, that's one of the really cool things about Arco, all of the seats are closer and have a better view than they would in another arena.

The food in Arco is mostly fine I think. I don't know really, I guess I don't have too much of a basis for comparison. It's overpriced as hell, like it is at every sporting event. Personally, I always try to eat beforehand.

Thanks Mitch.

Eating isn't that big of an issue, but I thought to ask anyways. It is always overpriced, no matter where.

Thanks for the feedback about the seats. They are a steal, in terms of price. They seem quite close.

that is a great idea. I just looked it up, and there is one that is pretty close, so that will work well.

I've sat all over the arena and I think the best seats are right behind the cameramen on the 2nd level.

There are two of them, however I wouldn't go there before a game.

There is a good Thai restaurant and a Bella Bru on Natomas Blvd that are better choices. They are walking distance from the Arena. In fact I can tell you how to save $10 off parking if you PM me.

Thanks for the tips. I appreciate it.

I didn't buy those tickets that I found on ticketmaster as I wasn't sure if my plans were going to get switched. Now I am confirmed 100%; flights and hotels are booked! The original tickets are taken, but there is still stuff to chose from, that I liked.

I wanted to be close to the visitors bench, as we will be decked out in our Raptor gear (don't hold that against me). Which tickets are better overall:

- KR2, near the middle of the court
- Sec 114 AAA, behind announcers (?)

I noticed that there is a whole row of courtsides - at the baseline - that are still for sale on ticketmaster. Do they have sales for these tickets if they are unsold closer to the game? I'd love to sit courtside, but don't want to pay courtside price (like everyone else).

I'd like for this to be quite the experience. I don't have a chance to watch the Raptors play often, so I would enjoy making this be something to remember. Thanks again for the input.

So you'll be @ the 3/10 game? I don't have that game so I can't go down and thump you on the back of the head for wearing such atrocious gear! j/k

Usually deals are either published in advance or given to season ticket holders. If you're looking for a deal I'd wait to see if there is going to be any promotions for that game. It's unlikely the game will sell out so you'll be fine waiting for tickets. Just keep going back to Kings.com as the promotions are on that page.

Speaking of tonight's game has a promotion of lower bowl tix for $35, which I'm mildly not happy with since I'll be in the upper bowl with my tickets at a higher price.

$35 is outstandingly cheap for lower bowl, in any city. I am going to wait until closer to the date to see if anything else comes up. I figured the game wouldn't sell out.

those are good seats. The only thing I would warn you about is im a season ticket holder so I know that there is alot of foot traffic throughout the game in that area. but the fact that ur behind the visitors bench rather than the kings means it will be worth it :D

It doesn't matter, but I was wondering, do the tv play by play announcers sit where the scorers' table is or are they at center court on the other side? What about the visiting team play by play?

I may be sitting in section 114. I figured it was close to the play by play guys from toronto but then I thought I noticed something on the other side of the court where they could be sitting.

Hey isn't tonight the Tyreke Evans T-Shirt night? What are you going to do with your T-Shirt? I'm going to the game so if you get hit with spit wads...it wasn't me ;)

The Kings play-by-play guys usually sit on the other side of the court--away from the other scorers table at home games. They only don't when it's a nationally televised game.

i think tyreke should be roy - so I guess I should keep the shirt... But I'll probably need it to clean off my spit covered raptors gear.
