Odom growing some kahonez for a change. Khole is rubbing off

Post#1 » by TonyMontana » Wed Mar 10, 2010 6:20 pm

I take it Khole Kirdashian has been rubbing off on Lamar since we all know she has the sack in the family.................

Nah but seriously Im glad Lamar has come out and said this. He is right and I believe its time we get back into playing ball the way we did last year. We all know everything that was said about this team when we lost to the Cs and that was our wakeup call specially with CANDY MAN when he personally took on players like K.G and others.

I think if this statement wouldve came from Kobe noone would've took him seriously but I believe Lamar leads by example. Am I excited over this statement?? Not at all, Im all about action speaks louder than words, so lets see how our team take this remark by Lamar.

Lamar Odom was visibly displeased following the Lakers' win on Tuesday over Toronto.

"Got dudes on the Raptors talking …," Odom said. "They ain't done …. You know what I mean? As a team, as individuals."

Odom felt the Raptors were given confidence because of the approach the Lakers took.

"Our disposition as a team gives like some of these dudes, they feel like they have the right," Odom said about the Raptors. "The way we're playing as a unit, they got dudes on their team that are talking …. They are like .500.

"But our aura comes off like ‘soft'. This was the second game I almost got thrown out. So I see one coming. I'm just going to take one, like, ‘hold up?' Our energy, we are so laid back right now that these teams are like…

"That … that [Orlando's] Matt Barnes pulled, that ain't never going to happen again," Odom said. "He's lucky it was a close game."

I don't think that Odom every really had "soft" issues the way some other wankers on our team do. He's always been more than willing to commit a hard foul or get in someone's face (like he does with KG every time we fact the Celts).

I'm glad he's coming out and being vocal about it though. Phil should respond by making him a starter, which is when we'll get back to playing ball like we did last year. 8-)

Odom is no where near soft...I like Odom's game and you see that teams really do not mess with him. I have a concern about Gasol. He's just soft as toilet paper. It is what it is. Odom grew up in Queens where you have to worry about other things than just playing ball. He has a amazing story. Artest to. But Gasol, Bynum and Farmer. They up bringing was a little different. It is what it is. No disrespect to them. But it is built in you or not. If you try to act tough (Gasol). That means you are really soft.

odom has never been soft. he is just laid back and people mistake it for softness. i am glad odom spoke up. real need some toughness outside of kobe on this team. for the life of me though i have never understood why phil doesn't let guys like dj and powell use up their 6 fouls, especially when guards are always getting into the paint against us. guaranteed no one in the league would run up on dj.
Only on realgm is 27,000 points, 5 rings, 1 rs mvp and 2 finals mvp considered overrated!

Guys I never said that he (L.O) was soft, Im saying that he finally grew some balls since he is now being very vocal and finally saying what should've been addressed in the first few games of the season. For the most part Lamar has shown his heart and aggression on the court. We all know that. My point was coming out and addressing the teams lack of balls.

Actions speak louder than words, Lamar. Hopefully one of your brainfarts doesn't make you forget this when the time comes.

Deep you know LO is gonna bring it. After I read the wiretap article I understood that Lamar is going to come out playing aggressive but it almost seems like he is saying he will come out to aggressive. I hope he doesn't do anything stupid and get suspended or anything like that.

Not to this level, sure he has spoken out about his frustrations and the teams lack of heart but he is calling out other teams and certain players to make a point and at the sametime mocking other teams and players "they got dudes on their team that are talking …. They are like .500." or ""That … that ish Matt Barnes pulled, that ain't never going to happen again," Odom said. "He's lucky it was a close game."

To me when you come out and call out teams and certain players your basically putting a bullseye on your back. Everyone knows that Lamar has addressed this with intentions to come out and make a statement and chances are he is going to either lay somebody out or play overly aggressive.

I'm down with this. I think when Odom comes out hard the team tends to follow. Hopefully our guys can all act on these frustrating to get this team back to the top. As all of you have said, actions speak louder than words so we'll see what happens Friday night in Phoenix.

i see what you mean tony, you're more talking about the public nature of LO's comments as opposed to privately addressing the team. I like it, LO don't take ish from anybody, whether its KG, some random buy on the blazers, or one of the nuggets' big men, LO gets in people's faces when needed.

Like many of you said, I will only believe it when I see it. Guys on this team all like to talk and make bold statements and yet very few of them ever back up their statements. Gasol talked about being dominant all year long and then plays like a freaking woman every time he's out there. Kobe talk about intensity and determination and then goes out to give wide open shots to his man all game long. Laker players, put up or shut up!

LO just put a giant tag for the refs on himself with that comment. The next time he's involved in an incident they will not hesitate calling a tech or throw him out whether or not its justified.

Anyone see Odom's demeanor during the Raptors game in the 3rd and 4th? All business. One possession, he just drove hard straight down the middle and scored. That's the kind of aggression we need, and afterwards the camera showed Lamar, he looked pretty serious.

Odom and Artest will know you the fudge out!!!

We now have 2 enforcers. But we really need an enforcer that isnt crucial to winning, like D-Fish was against the Rockets. We need a guy that can woop some ass but then if he misses a game or 3 in the play-offs wont devastate the team.

DJ you are a bad ass. Please make those ghetto Nugs shut it in the play-offs if they play dirty.
