Tyreke vs. Nocioni
Apparently there was a dispute between Tyreke and Noc last night. Apparently Evans told Noc to stop taking stupid shots, Noc didn't like being called out by a rookie and there was a heated exchange.
What do you think, I'm pretty sure I know what the consensus will be.
It's Tyreke's team, he is right, Noc plays like an 18 year old in a 24 hour fitness open gym.
Obviously I side with him and I'm glad someone said something finally.

Re: Tyreke vs. Nocioni
Was it in the fourth when Noc threw up like 4 straight shots and bricked 3 of them? I like that Tyreke was willing to say something even if he "is just a rookie." A true leader would be willing to let his teammates know when they aren't taking good shots.

Re: Tyreke vs. Nocioni
Good for Tyreke. Someone needs to tell Noci to stay in the offense instead of being the stopping ponit. Smack him around.

Re: Tyreke vs. Nocioni
Yeah, wouldn't mind a link.
I understand Noc being upset for a couple of reasons--1) It's not as if Tyreke doesn't take a few ill-advised jumpers a game, but more importantly 2) If that was actually how he said it, I think there probably is a more tactful way to say it--especially if it was in anyway showing Noc up in front of his teammates.
Having said that, it's good to see Tyreke showing some kind of leadership in a way, and I sure as hell agree with him. Noc should shoot open shots off of kickouts and when he's on, come off of screens. I don't trust him one bit to try to create a shot for himself--especially since he never passes.

Re: Tyreke vs. Nocioni
My thoughts on this...Nocioni is gone this summer regardless, so this is generally irrelevant for the future. As long as Tyreke calls out others for mistakes equally, I have no problem (I include him calling out his own mistakes in that as well). I really could care less about Nocioni's feelings.

Re: Tyreke vs. Nocioni
Per the Sac Bee & Amick:
Yet there was rare dysfunction at the wrong time, as well. Nocioni and Evans exchanged words during an official timeout midway through the fourth quarter, with the rookie taking exception with the veteran's play. Nocioni – who took just two shots in eight minutes through three quarters – took four shots in a span of 2 minutes, 44 seconds. He missed three of the attempts, with his final shot at the 8:39 mark an errant three-pointer that led to a Westbrook layup and six-point Thunder lead.
"We were in the game, and you come down and take bad shots?" Evans said of the situation. "That's not team basketball. Coach didn't say nothing, so I thought I had to step up (and say something)."

Re: Tyreke vs. Nocioni
Lol Evans take tough shots some times but mostly when hes in the lane, he doesn pull up for a long contested jumper every other trip down the floor, I love Nocs fire but the dude needs to chill out there, he will be great if he plays his good D, rebounds and hits his open shoots.

It depends on if Noc he just missed shots or if he forced shots.
If Noc forced shots then Evans was absolutely right.

Didn't everyone say Nocioni was going to be gone last trade deadline?
No...wait...it was Nocioni was going to for sure be traded away summer of 2009.
Wait...no, no, I'm stupid...it was that Nocioni was 100% going to be traded away 2010 trade deadline...
WAIT...no...he will be 1,000% sure be gone this summer...

Re: Tyreke vs. Nocioni
I'm with Nocioni, You don't throw your vet teammate under the bus. Thats not his role, hes not the coach, Evans showed lots of sign of leadership, But that was not one of them.

Its all skepticism at this point. Granted Tyreke shouldnt throw him under the bus, but if he was simply responding because Nocioni came at him first in the altercation, than I dont fault Tyreke at all. How bout noone take stupid shots...

Well, I obviously can't predict the future. But I can't see any reason why Petrie would be all that eager to hang onto him. Offer Noc to the Celtics for a late 1st pick after they fall short in the playoffs this year. They may go for it.

Re: Tyreke vs. Nocioni
On the Jim Kozimor show, it was reported that Tyreke said something to Nocioni about his shots, but Nocioni turned it into a hostile conversation because he was offended, and that's when it got heated.

It's not really why Petrie would hang on to Noc, its why ANYONE would want Noc and his contract.
Espec with the project cap drop and potentially new CBA, NO ONE is going to pay that much money for a player like Nocioni.
Is there a huge difference in terms of performance for us when we have Nocioni on the court opposed to Donte, Casspi, or Garcia? Not really. Nocioni is a good player, but you can easily find a player that produces near his level at 1/5th the cost.
Nocioni is one of the worst contracts in the league. End of story

Noc is trash, this should be the start to many DNP's.
