GM A Team Winter 2010 - Free Agency

Post#1 » by Mascot » Wed Mar 10, 2010 6:20 pm

I Still have emails to go through so may not have got to yours yet

Remember ALL EXTENSION signings are PERMANENTLY on your roster, they cannot be traded in the small trading period after FA. FREE AGENT Signings ARE allowed to be traded.

if not it would make trading pretty dull.

As always let me know if anything is wrong. Free Agency will be done differently this time around, if a player recieves a contract offer, the players name will be made RED, if he does not receive a contract offer that is better with 36 hours then he will sign the contract that was offered to him. However, if you OWN the rights to that player that has been offered a contract and email me an offer, I will email you back stating that the player has a much better offer or that this offer is close to the other offer but still not good enough. Please state if you own the rights. Im hoping this works. People wont know what the contract was but they will have a chance to evaluate each player who has been offered a contract and offer one of their own. There will be some exceptions to the 36 hour rule, due to max contracts being offered.

I have created a new email for this specifically since my email has a lot of filters on it. Especially the word free.

gmateam@hotmail.com

when sending offers please state why the player should sign with out and what your team is, just makes it easier for me to look at your team then checking email against username :)

I am going to sort them a little better when i get a chance just wanted to get his up to fix any mistakes.

Also, cap holds for open roster spots are going to be 500k which is now the minimum NBA salary for this season. Im going to do up cap space later tonight/starting it now.

What happens if we want to offer MLE, can we offer it to 2 separate players and have a priority order...

e.g. can I offer full MLE to Brendan Haywood & Marcus Camby at once and sign whichever accepts, or can I say I'll only sign Camby if Haywood rejects? Or am I even able to offer it to more than one person?

Ideally I'd like to have a backup plan!

If you are going to waive all rights to open up your cap space please let me know.

eg. Ray Allen has a 20million cap hold for Atlanta so he wouldnt have cap space until he waives the players rights.

send emails to gmateam@hotmail.com

also qualifying offers to to make players RFA. Trying to do up cap holds etc to see who has cap space.

******NATE ROBINSON IS STAYING IN HOUSTON!!!!*******

A.P. -

According to multiple sources Nate Robinson has signed a long term deal with the Houston Rockets. The Rockets love this move giving them a scoring boost off the bench. Nate loves the chance to play with Boozer/Parker and the newly aquired GILLY.

the deal breaks down like this.

2010 - 2010 $5,000,000
2011 - 2012 $5,000,000
2012 - 2013 $5,000,000
2013 - 2014 $5,000,000 (ETO)
2014 - 2015 $5,000,000 (PO)

*ALSO DCASH* that means how many offers they have.

The Miami Heat have also reached a deal with 2nd year player Anthony Tolliver. We are very impressed with how he has played at the end of last season and want to make a comitment to him and see him grow. He signed a 2 year guaranteed rookie scale deal. We think he can compete for bench minutes at both PF and C

you may offer it to more than one, you just have to give me a priority list so that in the chance both are willing to sign with you I can decide which one will.

in case you are wondering why I put the numbers of offers there it is because if people are willing to offer more then when they see someone else made an offer, they will retract their low ball offer and maybe increase it a bit more.

This keeps you guessing as to if you are the highest bidder or not and allows the player to make a little more money maybe.

EDIT: im going to bed in a minute, so no more offers will be updated possibly until tomorrow night. sorry about this but i have to work 8-5 tomorrow

The Bulls sign Reggie Williams to a two year deal.

Year One: $500,000 (G)
Year Two: $700,000 (UG)

Living in the bay area, I've got to watch Reggie Williams in his short stint in the NBA. He's a very good ball handler at 6'6, poised with the ball in his hands, and a solid jumpshooter. We feel with more exposure, and games to truly judge, he'll become a solid rotational player in the NBA. In his six games so far, not too shabby; 12.8 PPG, 3.0 RPG, 2.8 APG on 52/40/81, including a 28/6 game.

Most importantly, he doesn't really affect our cap plans, since he costs the same as a cap-hold.

The Miami Heat would like to announce that they have locked in the face of the franchise Dwayne Wade to a max deal. He as continued to say that his heart was in Miami and he would stay as long as we are committed to winning. As hurt as he was to lose in the Eastern Conference Finals last season he loves the team and the direction we are heading. He can not wait to start the 2010/2011 season and take the next step. He has 2 opt out clauses which will force us to keep the team up at the top of the Eastern Conference or he will bolt. He personally is happy to get a deal done before the CBA expires, and this will make him financially secure.
