Bosh and Jack dissing sac-town

Post#1 » by IamRapsMvP » Thu Mar 11, 2010 8:14 pm

One Sacramento fan was loud and persistent enough to draw reactions from Chris Bosh and Jarett Jack during Toronto's 113-90 loss to the Kings on Wednesday.

The fan yelled at Bosh, after a first-quarter timeout, to ask if he might sign with Sacramento.

"Hell no!" said Bosh in a disgusted reply.

The same fan continued his inquires into the third quarter, which eventually elicited a reply from Jack.

"Ain’t nobody coming here," Jack said. "Nobody even knows it’s in California."

Easy now on us Canadians friends.

Jack was clearly mad at our Raptor squad who was playing like garbage in the second half.

I am from Toronto and I have a lot of respect for Sac Town and your local boys the Deftones who put that city on the rock map.

Besides Jack is American himself, this is not a Canadian point of view.

I don't get this either. Not these guys or Toronto specifically, but it seems like the prevailing view is negative against Sac. Don't understand it. It might not be a huge market, but I've lived here quite awhile and its a great place to live.

Hey only people from Sactown have the right to bash it! And who cares what Jack says? Anyways Sactown is pretty small I don't think there is enough room here for Jack's forehead.

I have news for you Jarrett Jack, ain't nobody gives a **** about you either, and for Bosh, enjoy wallowing in mediocrity for your entire career.

Other than the occasional annoying Raptor fan, I have nothing against Canada or its people. I know this isn't a Canadian thing.

Jarrett Jack can suck my balls, not like I give a **** what a guy who lets a rookie drop a tripple double on his ass thinks anyway. Seriously though, I understand Bosh saying he's not leaving, but Jack is just a douche. But we beat their ass like they were read headed step childs anyway so it doesn't matter.

I have to agree to a certain extent but have you been to LA? The definition of superficial people.

....And I'm hoping to move there next year!!! :)

The average American knows Sacramento is in California, but the average American doesn't know who the f*** Jarret Jack is.

Have you been ANYWHERE else? I've lived in Sac my entire life too, but honestly, if I was a top NBA player in my prime (Lebron, Bosh, Wade, Roy, etc.) there is ZERO chance I come to this current King's team, unless if I had personal ties to the city.

Sacramento is boring as hell compared to your other choices. Even other small market cities like San Antonio, Salt Lake, Portland, Atlanta, Houston, (etc, etc.) all offer more within their respective city. Yes, we have SF and Tahoe close by, but if you were making 18 mil a year and could essentially go to any city, would you really even consider Sacramento?

Now, if we were winning, it would be a different scenario.

Sacramento can keep or attract FA when we are good, but we can't attract them when we're a bottom feeder. The only problem is, by the time we do become better, we most likely won't have the cap room to sign anyone.

Yeah, I've lived elsewhere and certainly been to alot of places. I get the whole, its not a big market, but aside from that its a good palce to live. There are alot of worse cities to live in, even play in IMO

Market wise we are actually somewhat comparable. Its the fact that our city and downtown area sucks balls. Sacramento is a good city to live for specific people. People who want to raise a family. People who enjoy a quiet and safe and overall pretty good lifestyle. However, Sacramento is a TERRIBLE city to live in if your young, rich, and want to have fun. I don't know Chris Bosh personally, so I can't tell you if that's him or not. And I don't know you. By your comments, I'm assuming since you've lived in so many places, you are very likely older than 30 years old. In which case, Sacramento would be a good place for you to live.

Think about it this way, if your a typical 10 year old and you have a choice of going on vacation to anywhere in the entire world. Would you really choose somewhere like Sonoma or Napa or Monterey Bay? For an adult, absolutely, those places are very pretty and very nice. They might not be the best, but certainly aren't terrible and still some quality vacation destinations. Plus, financially they aren't bad choices either. However, the 10 year old, is NEVER going to choose those destinations. Instead, he's going to want to go to Disneyland or Hawaii or New York City.

Dude there's plenty of places that aren't as good as Sacramento, Indiana, Detroit, OKC, that **** has nothing to do with basketball really. And I've been in Portland before and I like Sac better. And if Sac sucked so bad why was Rubio willing to come here but not to MIN? Why was Tyreke Evans and Jennings and other rookies wanting to come to Sacramento over other places? Tyreke said before the draft on twitter or whatever that he loved Sacramento and he wanted to play here, when he could've said he wanted to play in Memphis or LAC or OKC who all had higher picks and would've given him more money.

Jack does realize the fan wasn't talking to him. We don't want him to come to Sac. Good thing Jack isn't Bosh's agents. Watch Bosh leave his a$$ in Toronto..

Did I say Sacramento was the worst city to live in? Have you seen any of those cities sign any major FA or any major FA say they want to go there? And Indianapolis and Detroit are far more exciting cities than Sacramento. Remember, these players would be living in the best locations and be able to hang out in the best locations as well. While in Sacramento, you have King's bored King's players walking around in the Galleria.

Why those players wanted Sacramento over the cities you listed?
LAC - Second worst management in the NBA and will always be a nobody in LA
Mem - Not really a big city either. Horrible management and team direction. (Rubio also had very negative remarks from his fellow Spaniards about Memphis)
OKC - OKC is boringer than Sacramento. Plus, Rubio would have been in Westbrook and Durant's shadow. Evans wouldn't be nearly as effective in OKC as well. No coach would give Evans much of an opportunity to take over games when you have Durant.
Min - Rubio would have gotten more money in Sacramento (reason he's not in Minn is cause he doesn't have the money)

Sacramento isn't the worst place to be in...but it certainly isn't in the top half either.

And exactly. It has nothing to do with basketball. However, you can't tell me that location isn't a factor. Think about college choices, location is huge. Think about where you will go to look for a job or what city to choose to live in...location is huge. You can't honestly tell me that location has zero impact in where people choose to work and live.

And, if you factor basketball in. Our team sucks. Theres only one talented player on our roster that might potentially slightly influence a player's decision in Tyreke. The rest of our roster sucks in terms of drawing FA. No one gives a s**t that we have Thompson or Casspi or Landry or Hawes. They aren't going to make anyone want to play next to them. People might want to play next to Tyreke, but that's also very unlikely as well, due to his age + the age of whatever FA. Bosh isn't going to want to wait 4 years for Tyreke to reach his prime when he could easily contend today next to Wade.

Like I said, the only way we draw FA is either by
a) vastly overpaying (ie Max contract to a player like Boozer or Johnson or Gay or even maybe Lee, 2-3 mil higher than any other major city)
b) having a player with personal ties to Sacramento
c) Us actually being a good team and making FA's believe they have a chance to win a title here.

Currently we are 0/3
