I read on JSOnline that they're going to be "borrowed from their history," so they shouldn't be too different.

I've always thought the Packers have one of the best set of uniforms in all of sports. Simple, classy, and timeless enough that it will never look outdated or need to be changed. Hopefully these new alternates don't suck.

We discussed this a few weeks ago including a picture from what the potential throwback is probably modeled after.

Whenever I think of a Packers alternate I think of that horrible navy blue/yellow/tan combination.

I really liked that, but maybe just because it was different and not because it was particularly aesthetically pleasing...

Wonder if they will lead off Fan Fest with this or save it until later. Fan Fest starts at 4pm. You might have to get me on my cell phone during the Bucks game to find a picture :P

They really should unveil them before 1 pm though. This would get people talking about it at work and it would carry into the weekend. Otherwise most people won't find out about it until Monday, if at all. It would be savvy to let people know while they are still at work...

Saw something on the news last night that had the jersey shown. Not sure if it was the one their chosing but they made it seem like it was. Long navy blue with a big gold circle in the middle of the jersey with the number. Interesting to note that it was long sleeved?

They have pics of the jersey

Just like I feared, the circle and the number on front are huge. It looks awful. I suppose I have to wait to see the full uni, helmet and all, but the jersey I do not like... good find Chuck!

The thing I feared is that the circle/number would be huge, which it isn't on the actual old jersey. Here are the Bears throwbacks from the NFL 75th anniversary season.

As you can see, the number on front is small. Maybe teams got special clearance to wear smaller numbers that would, now, be in violation of NFL uni policy, but seriously, what is the point of a throwback if it doesn't retain the singular meaningful feature of the uni it is based on?
