Would Utah Trade the NYK 1st?

Post#1 » by ecuhus1981 » Fri Mar 12, 2010 6:31 pm

Hello everyone, Nets / Mavericks fan here.

I was wondering what you all would think of a trade that would help the Nets attain more 2010 capspace, and help the Jazz contend. Here's my basic idea:

The Nets would give Utah: Kris Humphries, the DAL 1st (currently #27) and one of our young swingmen (Chris Douglas-Roberts, Terrence Williams or Courtney Lee)

The Jazz would give part of the Harpring TPE, and the NYK 1st (currently #8).

This would be a draft-day type of deal, where the Nets would hope to pair a guard at our pick (Wall/Turner) with a bigman at NYK's pick (Cousins/Favors).

I know Utah fans have pinned their hopes on the NYK pick becoming a bigtime franchise boost, but if you don't find anyone you're particularly enamored with...
Some people really have a way with words. Other people... not... have... way.

If you want the Knicks pick, you have to give up Lopez. It's that simple.

I'm not usually one to criticize trade proposals, but the Jazz would be giving up a top 10 draft pick for:

1) Kris Humphries, a guy who was absolutely horrid in Utah and is now in his best season an 8/6 player
2) CDR/Williams/Lee. Granted, I don't know too much about them but their stats don't scream out to me very much on the worst team in the league. Plus, it's a position the Jazz are farily deep at.
3) The #27 pick

No offense, but it doesn't sound like the most inticing package in the world to me. Even with the #8 pick you'd think taking the gamble on a big who could hopefully give the Jazz an interior defensive presence is a more worthy option from the Jazz's POV.

I agree. This has to be a joke. There is nobody on New Jersey that I want. They have a bunch of crap players. It's by no accident they have won 7 games this year.

haha, 0-10.

Yes, I would be willing to trade that pick or anybody on the team, for the right deal... this is not even close to the right deal.

NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any deal involving Knicks pick has to involve the Nets young starting center, such as Memo and nyk pick for him.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

Let's put it this way. Would you trade your pick for Fesenko, C.J. Miles and Memphis' future pick?

Reason to do this are:

The Jazz get a great player.

The Nets give up a great pick for nothing.

Deal?

I voted yes because obviously Chris Humphries, CDR, and the nobody who will be available at #27 will change the future of our franchise for the better.
