T-Mac in latest Simmons Column

Post#1 » by Optimism Prime » Fri Mar 12, 2010 4:54 pm

Q: Your column on how to fix the NBA reminded me of something that took place in my dorm market place the other night. I see this heavy girl putting extra mayo on her double cheesburger to go along with a huge plate of cheese fries topped with bacon bits. After she's done putting mayo on the burger, she walks over to the drinks and pours herself a glass of water. Above the pitcher of water there is a sign that says "Live Healthy, Choose Water." It's like she thought that somehow this "healthy" water would cancel out all the damage she was going to do with the burger, mayo and fries. It's the same way with the owners. Let's overindulge in ridiculous contracts, but in the end we always think we can undo the damage by trying to deal them in the final year of the contract so we can free up cap space and do the process all over again. By the way, Donnie Walsh is the heavy girl and Jerome James is the extra mayo. T-Mac is the glass of water.

Tmac is not ballin' in New York..

And what if the fat girl just likes water.. Now if it was a diet soda that story would be a lot better and the analogy would be spot on..

Yeah, 11.8 points and 4.7 assists on 42.7% shooting is "ballin". Oh, and missing games due to "general soreness" and rubbing his knee on the bench is "ballin," too.

Unless you mean "ballin" as in "bawling," then yes, T-Mac is "ballin".

how is that considered balling? for 22m, he is falling icon each day with those perceived balling performaces.

Of course he isnt balling. He was rottin' on the bench for eternity and then Dantoni played him for 36 minutes straight up. If he would have gotten 20 minutes a game from mid December (when he asked for more than 7/5 MPG) he would have been just fine right now. Houston handled that wrong, but Walsh was so desperate to unload Jeffries you guys got a bargain.

I rather have Martin than NY's "ballin" Tmac....Hill is unimpressive and is still just a filler IMO. Hopefully those two draft picks can heal the wound that giving up landry created.
