Boston is a flat out better team than the Nets, but they still lost. Every team is beatable even though it's highly unlikely. Fact is, they are a much better team than us and there's nothing to say they aren't. They are a team that gets it done offensively and defensively, have one of the top coaches in the NBA, they have probably the biggest starting lineup and 6th man and the best player in the game not named Lebron.
The Suns didn't execute properly and that's why we lost. Sure some foul calls went there way but you have to expect that in the NBA, especially when you are playing contenders. But they played us the right way and we got suckered into doubling Kobe when it was clear he was in distribution mode. The Lakers are most dangerous when Kobe conserves his energy and becomes a playmaker and then closes out the game in the 4th. That's exactly what he did and we gotta give credit to them for finding a way to beat us on our home court.
But just because we were right there still doesn't mean they aren't a flat out better team.

I suppose but the Suns have been right there against a lot of good teams this season. Is that a co-incidence or are all those opponents not really that much better than the Suns?
I don't know...I'm probably just not being objective enough but I really think the Suns are a lot better than we make them out to be. A bit more poise in crunch time this season and the Suns could also have 46 wins just like the Lakers.

FWIW the Knicks absolutely trashed a team that is flat out better than them in every way. But even the best of the best fall sometimes. I would consider a team that can beat us 7 times out of 10 a flat out better team. They've taken 3 of 4 from us so it's about right.
I have to give credit to Gentry, he gave opportunities to guys like Dudley, Lou, Frye, Lopez and Dragic and for the most part they delivered. It's these role players that have made us the team we are today. Any other coach and I can bet we are a 30-35win team and Lou, Lopez, Dragic, and Frye would probably get very little playing time. But the truth is that, top to bottom, the talent level of the Suns are just no match for the Lakers. They shut us down in the 2nd and we came back in the 2nd half but just didn't have enough juice to pull off an upset. Good teams know how to keep a lead and it's one of biggest weakness's and until we figure that out, I don't think we're contenders. Never said we were a bad team but there's no denying that they are better than us.

We weren't outplayed. We were outcoached, because we continued to double Kobe.

I see that Gasol got a Flagrant 1 for smacking Lou Amundson across the face. Whoopie! What does that do now?! Do we get two shots and the ball back and get to start over from that point in the game? Do we get those Fisher FTs that came from the Gentry ejection nullified as well? Seriously, why the hell would you do this now. Who cares? The game is over and now we can't do anything about it. What's the point? Is this saying "Yeah, we're freakin' terrible at officiating games and conducting a proper and sane entity so we'll get you furious as all hell, screw the game up completely, then admit it by making a BS token gesture two days after which will seem to correct ourselves but in reality doesn't make a BIT of a difference."
What a ****ing joke.
