OT: Things to do in Indiana?

Post#1 » by Joseph17 » Sun Mar 14, 2010 9:45 am

I'm going on a road trip with my friends to the Midwest and I was wondering what there is to do in Indiana. What else is there to do besides go to a Pacers game? Are there any clubs, restaurants, or tourist attractions that you would recommend?

There are several night clubs in the indy area. (as proven by jamaal tinsley). The Indiana Basketball hall of fame is in New Castle, Indiana. I've never been there but it would probably be pretty cool to see. If you could go see their high school gym thats pretty amazing as well. There's the Indianapolis Zoo and a coulple museaums. If you like baseball you could go to an Indianapolis Indians game. They only cost about 13 bucks. I don't know when your trip is planned for but you could go check out the Indy Motor Speedway.NCAA hall of champions is also in indy. Contrary to popular belief there is actually quite a bit that you can find to do especially if you dont live here.

if you are bringing kids, the children's museum is a must. final four will be here this year. there are clubs downtown although a lot of the young crowd hangs out in Broad Ripple which is a 15 minute drive from downtown.

You could come here to IU and party. The bar scene is pretty impressive if you are 21. The campus is also fun to tour.

I am 22 and I take my nieces to the Children's Museum as an excuse to go. Buuut as far as road trips go, I'd say the College Basketball Hall of Fame, the Speedway, and as far as going out I think Broad Ripple is more fun than downtown. I also know a ton of people in Ripple, so it might be different.

I wish I could recommend you something neat and fun but I don't know what it would be. Indiana is quite tame when it comes to things to do it seems. I can't tell you to go to the beach, check out the great shopping, and this, that, and the the other. You could go cow tipping or cornfield exploring!
