Joe Johnson sore Achilles

Post#2 » by HMFFL » Tue Mar 16, 2010 2:16 am

Edit: Found a link

Joe Johnson (sore Achilles’) is not on the Hawks’ team flight. He’s been ruled out for New Jersey tomorrow and probably is out for Thursday Wednesday at Toronto, too. Mike Bibby (back) made the flight but is questionable for New Jersey.

J.J. will miss his first game of the season and just his fourth since 2007-08. He wasn’t available for comment because he was getting treatment (and napping, as is his custom).

“I’ve always said when somebody goes down it gives somebody else a chance to step up and play,” Woody said before J.J. was officially ruled out. “That’s why I tell guys they’ve always got to be ready.”

I got a bad feeling about this game
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

Well, it's time to see if Mo Evans, Mario West, and Jeff Teague can log worthwhile minutes against the worst team in the league. It will also be interesting to see if Marvin asserts himself offensively to pick up some scoring slack.

Heard Bibby might not play either with the flu?? Time to see how this team responds to a little adversity cause we've been injury free basically all year. I think we will see some people step up pretty strong to compensate and win by 8.

Well Yi is out and Harris looks like he's going to miss the game.

So I guess we're even =D

It's a back injury.

His minutes are already limited, but Mike Bibby to me is a key piece for the playoffs, so hopefully his back is 100% before the playoffs. If he wants to play, I hope his minutes are limited to around 20 tonight.

Is Jamal getting his first start... as well as possibly Teague?

Yi being out definitely helps...... New Jersey. Pretty sad that a 7 footer can't shoot over 40% from the field.

Ur kidding. Yi is 7 feet? He shoots under 40%? Thats shocking. I thought he was 6'10.
So whos gonna guard Josh tonight?

Josh will probably be guarded by Josh.

Rookie Jeff Teague will start at point guard for the Hawks on Tuesday night with Joe Johnson (Achilles) out.
Teague will start at the point with Mike Bibby sliding over to the shooting guard spot. It's an experimental move by coach Mike Woodson and we doubt it will yield fantasy production. Teague is averaging just nine minutes a game on the season and this will mark his first career start.

Lets see what the kid can do. Hopefully Woody lets us run.

Great idea playing Teague off the ball next to Bibby.

WTF is Smith trying to do? We need to boxout a little better. Half court trap was nice to see for a bit

Horf is doing better on Lopez than SMith is doing on Boone. Boone is really really ugly by the way.

Josh should focus on creating for our shooters tonight.

Before Brook shot his 2nd FT I looked and told my friend Crawford will hit a 3. Hes cooking.

Great half by the backcourt.

Its good to see the starters get excited for the bench.

Bench giving good minutes, buying some rest for starters tomorrow.
