NBA.com trade deadline article
WOW finally someone has something constructive to say about us. we made a hell a "move" by keeping Amar'e that's for sure.
Nearly a month after trade deadline, some hits, some misses

The trade deadline was a month ago, and so you ask: Which player has sizzled the most since then? How about Amar'e Stoudemire, the one who stayed put?
Nobody's name was mentioned more than Stoudemire, and he's playing like he's with a new team. He rolled 41 points on the Spurs last week, had three straight 30-point games and has upped his board work, too. He may be with his old team, but he's looking like a new man. This is probably the best sign yet that Stoudemire might opt out from that final year ($17 million), if his play of late can convince someone to pay him max money this summer (good luck).
The Suns aren't the only team benefitting from the deadline.

Re: NBA.com trade deadline article
So how exactly do we benefit? That article is majorly short sighted. Sure he's beasting right now but are we any closer to signing him to an extension? Are we any closer to making him *want* to stay and take less money to play with us? The longer he plays like this, the more teams are going to offer him in the off-season. All we got from not trading him (I hoped for the Miami deal) is a few more months of decent basketball while we wait for a 1st or 2nd round exit, then Amare is going to leave for nothing.
We came out as losers at the deadline. We kept Amare and we are leaving contract negotiations for the off-season, just more chance Amare will walk for nothing. Not saying I'm not happy to see Amare playing so well with us, all I'm saying is that the premise of this article is flawed.

Suns to-do List:

2. Sign & Trade Amare for draft picks/salary relief.
3. Trade Nash to a Contender.
4. Tank 2011.

Screw tanking, I don't believe in that unless I'm a Knicks fan.

Re: NBA.com trade deadline article
Well most teams that completely rebuild don't have the type of young talent we do - Lopez, Dragic, Clark, Lou, Duds etc... So i'd be more like reloading. To get Perry Jones we'd have to go 10-72 next season which means we'd need a great pick from an Amare trade because the team without Nash/Amare would still win 15-20 games

I agree. The Cavs' fans were pathetic to want their team to tank in 2002.

So it's better to root for barely making the playoffs year after year just to become first round fodder?

Re: NBA.com trade deadline article
perry jones is a PF. we need someone in the post. the last 3 championship teams has great post players and building a team around a SF is not a good idea.

gut check time suckas!

Perry Jones has HOF type potential...plus he can play any of the 5 positions...like Earl Clark.

'Tanking' is a bad word for rebuilding. None of us are 'bandwagon' fans. We'd all ride or die with this team thru a few down years. In 2001 we were 1 and done in the playoffs, then we traded Kidd and were terrible the next year which then got us Amare Stoudemire.

A team of Dragic/3 point shooter/Clark/Jones/Lopez is just plain amazing in the future.
