Rox Dream Offseason
I am excluding the chance we get a top 3 pick - that would be sweet.
I like two trades:
First - deal for Bosh - Brooks and Scola - should be workable if Bosh tells them he is leaving.
- - - another alternative here would be Amare or even Boozer
Second - deal for Rubio - a workable deal could be our Lotto pick this year and 2 picks in 2012 (us and NY - same conditions, top 5 protected for a couple of years).
Lowry, Rubio
Martin, Budinger
Ariza, Battier
Bosh, Hill
Yao, Anderson, Hayes
I would really enjoy watching that team when healthy.

1. LeBron James joins the Rockets in a sign-n-trade. Cleveland desperately wants Jared Jeffries expiring contract.
2. McGrady averages 40/10/10 for the rest of his season, and decides to sign with the Rockets for the veteran's minimum.
3. Morey works his voodoo magic and trades for the no.1 pick on draft night. Rockets draft John Wall.
4. Scola resigns with the Rockets for the MLE.

Re: Rox Dream Offseason
I used to love going over and over every potential sign/trade/draft possibility. It was the highlight of my life - which tells you I had a pretty empty life.
Then DorkElvis showed up. Changed everything. Like David Plouffe. Or the integrated circuit. Or disposable razors.
Now I wait for different stuff. I've grown, with age.
My dream off-season for my beloved Rox revolves around waiting for three things, in quick succession:
1. Morey makes his 2-5 step, strange maneuvers.
2. Message board posters scream about how dumb it is. (And "racist". Don't forget. Morey's always a racist in those 1st few hours after he starts making moves.)
3. The silence, 2 months later, when the internet quarterbacks realize how wrong they were.
Personally?
I know enough to keep my stupid mouth shut.
But GOD, I can barely wait for #s 1 through 3...again.
P.S. - I also can't wait for my evil sister-in-law to explode like the fat, emotionally toxic, H-Bomb she is.

Battier will be heavily shopped this off season. im pretty sure of it.
I love AB and scola, but if we can get Bosh for them it would be a great trade

I just want someone who can rebound and block shots. Is that really too much to ask for? I know that Hill will fill that role in time, but I want it now

Re: Rox Dream Offseason
probably say bye bye to Hilton Armstrong for sure.
Jeffries, Battier and possibly Scola (S&T) would most likely be shopped... hopefully Bosh who is definitely an upgrade over Scola. (I like Scola but if Bosh comes along it'll be too hard to pass.) In fact, i think no one is particular safe on this Houston team. I just got a feeling that we are going to roll with the AB-Lowry PG-combi at the start of next season since they complement each other so well. Thinking of what Morey is doing (i.e. collecting 2011 expirings like Jeffries then possibly add more valuable pieces like Scola and Battier plus 2nd rd picks to spice up any potential hot deal), i think he is actually going to put himself in a better position than some other teams which are just blatantly clearing cap space just hoping that a superstar might land there. If the "superstar" doesn't land there, those teams could be screwed inside-out. Morey's plan seems like "even if i can't do a S&T for those super-lads, at least i still have some talent and pieces that i can possibly make Houston an outsider contender for 2010-11". looks like a Win-Win situation for Houston since Morey seemed to have all bases covered. Interesting how he is going to handle our offseason. he hasn't had much "space" to work around over the last few offseason but this offseason is going to be exciting. Perhaps one of the noisiest in recent times.

They pretty much already do. I prefer to think of them as pg-rated strippers.

Should I buy stock in Clorox?
Morey 2020.

Re: Rox Dream Offseason
Rockets move Jeffries/Hayes/Andersen/Taylor + the 2 knicks picks in a SnT for Bosh
Resign Scola + Lowry for combined 11 million
Manu accept the MLE to come here and re-unite with Scola
Draft a backup center with size, like Alabi
Brooks/Lowry
Martin/Manu
Battier/Ariza/Budinger
Bosh/Scola
Yao/Alabi

I'm waiting for the trade deadline next season. That's when the fire sales on top talent will happen and Morey has all the right kind of assets to make a killing.

Re: Rox Dream Offseason
first - sign and trade scola/jefferies/filler and picks for Bosh (I would not include Brooks)
(if Morey can get Bosh without sending Scola he is a god... but I highly doubt that happens unless Bosh says he wants to come to Houston)
second - sign Marcus Camby
AB/Lowry
Martin/CBud
Battier/Ariza
Bosh/Hayes
Yao/Camby
Thats a contender!

Re: Rox Dream Offseason
Win the Lottery
Draft Evan Turner 1st overall
Sign & Trade Scola add Martin for Bosh.
I would like to see us give Morrison a shot too. He was good his 1st year, lacking confidence.
Patty Mills is buried in Portland after he got injured early in the season. Speed is always good
Brooks/Lowry/ P. Mills
Turner/Budinger/Taylor
Ariza/Battier/Ammo
Bosh/Hill/Jefferies
Yao/Hayes/Andersen
Of course we can swing Battier and Jefferies expirings, some NY picks for another star at the 1.
But I think Brooks is pure class.
Maybe bring in Iverson too, lets get him a ring

Martin isn't going anywhere.........Morey had been trying to get him for a long time.
DO NOT WANT Iverson.....he's DONE, but since many still think Francis can play....others might still think Iverson can too
