It was smart to send Hasheem to the D league
In a couple of years he'll be putting up 14/15 11-3.5 60%

The D League was a good experience for Hasheem, although IMO it should have lasted longer. I believe his ceiling will be 10/10/3 or so. Hasheem will have chronic issues with foul problems. He's too far behind the curve to catch up offensively within the next couple of years. Additionally, he can't catch squat.
Chances are, if/when he does develop it will a) still never warrant being the 2nd overall pick and b) will be with a team other than the Grizzlies. My money's still on career backup/defensive sub/specialist.

JMO from a Wolves fan.
I don't think he'll ever live up to the #2 pick, but that's not his fault. I never blame players for bad management decisions. I do think he will become a solid player though. A rich mans Samuel Dalembert, if you will. 8/11/3 in 28 minutes a game. That's a solid starting defensive center in this league.

it was good for him and he has some upside but I like to point out that he isn't a real spring chicken. He had a long path from Tanzania to UCONN to NBA. He's older than Mike Conley Jr for example. And only one year younger than Rudy Gay (a 4th year player). THough of course he hasn't been playing basketball since he was 5 years old either (soccer). It's not like other 18 year olds taken in the draft that blossom into franchise player later like Gerald Wallace did (19 yrs old in 2001 draft - now is face of the franchise many years later)... at least - it's unlikely to be the story
