Wiz Board discussion of MARCH MADNESS

Too bad Jarvis Varnado's MissState crew didn't make the tourney. That was a nice game vs Kentucky.

Feel free to discuss the rest here.

Email me at jmrosenth@yahoo.com if you're interested in joining an ESPN pool for a little monetary contribution.

Duke's road to the FF is a joke. MD and GTown in the same loaded region. Do Richmond or ODU have a chance to win their 1st round games?

i had had two martinis at this point so i asked her if he every shouted DAGGER in the bedroom with her.

she looked at me kinda strangely and said she had no idea what DAGGER meant.

While Duke's region is not as strong other regions, I wouldn't call their region that easy. Duke could theoretically play Villanova, who blew out Duke last year by 23 points en route to the final 4. Granted Nova may not be as strong defensively since they lost Dante Cunningham to the NBA and other bigs like Dwayne Anderson and Shane Clark are no longer on the team. But they do have scoring and depth with a rotation that goes 10 men deep. Still Nova is struggling entering this season (losing it's past 5 out of 7 games). Last year, Villanova was playing good basketball at the right time.

Big East teams have tin the past couple of matchups have had Duke's number (Georgetown, Villanova). I wonder if Louisiville, coached by Rick Pitino, could give Duke some problems- the Cardinals have also beaten Syracuse this season.

I agree on Duke. Still, I'm thinking TX A&M, Nova, or Baylor still can keep the Dukies out of the Final Four. Hedged my bets on it. One bracket I have Duke waltzing through what is by far the weakest bracket. Another I have Baylor going.

The Terps, Hoyas, Buckeyes, and even the overall #1 seed Jayhawks have a right to be miffed over their region's talent.

Kansas was a better team than Duke too. They should have gotten a much easier road to the final 4.

It is looking to be a pretty interesting tournament so-far. The first 3 games one upset and 2 OT games.

I picked GTown to go the final 8 in one of my pools, but not MD.

good set of games so far. buzzer beaters and upsets = nice. but i cant help but have a nagging feeling that the 1st round has been rigged to try and create upsets. the ODU/ND pairing was too convenient a style matchup. but who cares, it's nice to watch competitive basketball again.
Until Grunfeld goes there is no rebuild.

Wow- what an ugly game by Georgetown. Not sure if this makes it more or less likely for Monroe to leave.

monroe is GONE. he's having a pretty good game and they lose opening round? he's not going to miss out on another year of a multimillion dollar contract.

Quincy Pondexter might be worth a late first/early 2nd. Nice game winner.

Watching GT. The guards for the yellow jackets are the worst collegiate guards I have ever seen in my life. Favors doesn't look as big as his measurements suggest. I don't see how he'll be able to play center in the league.
