Filling out the roster for next season

Post#1 » by joe.linnen » Fri Mar 19, 2010 6:29 am

I know that when the playoffs is over we have some roster spots to fill. I'm sure that Fisher will be back next season, I hope in a lesser role tho. My thing is that their are a few player that can be had for the MLE. I want un to get our Guard spot squard away and fast. So I listed a few player that can help us next season.

SF:Artest/Walton/
PF:Gasol/Odom/Powell
C:Bynum/Mbenga
SG:Bryant/Brown/Vujacic
PG:Fisher/

R. Foye-PG/SG
M. Miller-SG/SF
J. Crittenton-PG/SG
R. Felton-PG
J.J. Redick-SG/PG
A. Daniels-PG/SG
T. McGrady-SG/SF

You know, its actually feasible that we could get Dwayne Wade under the right circumstance.

It won't happen. But if the team really wanted him we could get him.

There will be some new players. Just not sure if they will be big names. Why over pay if they are going to sit on bench all year and Phil does not play them anyway.

Am i the only one that doesn't want to see any of brown/fisher/farmar next year?

I would like to keep Brown around. I love Fisher to death but its time for him to wear that suit. I want Foye here tho or Crittenton or Felton.

If Phil is back and we continue with the triangle, I think Steve Blake could be very good.

I think Fish will be back, hopefully for the LLE and in a backup role. Fish may yet knock down a big shot or two this postseason...

I would think Shannon Brown is back. I think he can contribute more.

I also think we need to look at getting in some low risk / high reward players for the bench, who you may not even need for the rotation unless they earn immediate minutes. I would still love to see Gerald Green here...I think the upside is still there and he can only get better going against Kobe and Artest in practice.

I think we missed the boat on Shaun Livingston...no doubt he would have rather played here than Washington. He could have developed at his own pace this season with the idea of seeing what he might offer the Lakers next year and in the future.

With the Lakers payroll and point guard situation, they need to think outside the box in terms of trying to bring in talent that may help both short and long term.

If McGrady can be had for the MLE, I'm all for it. Put him and Kobe in the backcourt with Fish and Brown coming off the bench. If Farmar can be brought back for 2 mil or less bring him back, if not seeya Jordan.

The right circumstances? Yea, if he lost his mind and signed for the MLE. Which he wouldn't do.

Counting on T - Mac to help you win a championship is like going out with Ben Roethlisberger without having a really good attorney. It's just a bad idea.

Even if it happened - how in the world would you have enough shots for them? Our bigs would get even less shot attempts...T- Mac would be a bad addition.

Split the MLE among Mike Miller and Steve Blake and call it a day.

We need good shooters, so teams won't play so much zone defense.

I like Miller too, but I don't see getting him for half of the MLE.
