Jon Gruden would get my COY vote if the season ended today.

Seems like we are destined to face a former Packer coach in the playoffs, either Gruden or Holmgren. Both know the importance of rattling favre but neither has the horses to pull it off this year, I think.

Tampa Bay in Green Bay doesn't worry me half as much as Green Bay in Tampa.

DB what's the reasoning behind Gruden as your COY? Just curious.

I'm curious too. One, MM deserves it more. Two, Tampa Bay sucks on the road.

I say it's a toss up between MM & Gruden.

Gruden impresses me cause he is doing it with 4-5 win talent His team is over-achieving much like the pack.

^^^^^ Exactly, cause we all thought the Pack would be 10-2 at this point and be looking at a chance for a first round bye in the playoffs!!!!!

I guess I shouldn't have said easily. Maybe it's a tossup.

Going in MM's favor is the system he's instilled. No way we're 10-2 if we're running the Sherman offense. The spread attack is a thing of beauty when it's rolling.

But Gruden's team 4 games last season. They lost their starting RB and have been using a journeyman at QB (though a good journeyman). He's somehow taken years off an aging Bucs D.

What's going against him is the fact the NFC south is so bad.

Looking at their schedule and the way they've played lately, I wouldn't be shocked if they sneak in the 6th seed.

True, but 2 years ago that same TB team won 11 games. And Garcia went 6-2 as a starter last year with his 2 losses both being on the road. 1 @ Indy and 1 @ NO in the playoffs.

And even if Caddy was their starting RB he's been nothing special lately. He had a great rookie year, but last year he had 798 yards in 14 games with a 3.5 avg with 1 TD. Until he repeats his rookie success he might just be a 1 hit wonder, and his loss isn't as much of a blow as some might suspect.

Like I said the Pack has been over-achieving just like the bucs. I think it will be a toss-up for coach of the year with 4 guys. Gruden, Billicheat, wade phillips, MM.

I hope MM gets it but I think that they will give it to Gruden.

They will be a tough team to beat in January with the way they pound the ball and wear down D's.

I believe that we can beat any NFC team at home in Jan, 80% of the time, if not better.

The bigger question is, I believe NY would beat Tampa. Which Romo will show up? He still is young. How will he perfrom in the playoffs vs a team like NY?

can they be beaten?

I would love a game at home to go to the super bowl!!!

I think the Giants are trash at this point, they haven't really beaten anyone of note this season. Romo maybe wouldn't show up but Eli would probably hide in the locker room. If you gave me the choice of who I wanted to play in the 2nd round it would go like this:

1. NYG
2. TB
3. Minnesota (not likely with their 6th seed)
4. Seattle

Beating the Eagles and Bears is a respectable feat but they eeked those games out with late comebacks...and Eli still looked terrible.

During their huge winning streak they beat Miami, NYJ, SF, and Atlanta...that is a set of terrible teams. They also beat Philly and Washington - 2 mediocre teams - in that stretch. ESPN was circle jerking over this team at that point and had them ranked over Green Bay and some had them even over Dallas even though there was really no reason to do it since both teams spanked the Giants.

They were crushed by the 3 playoff teams they've faced...GB, Dallas, Minnesota

Updated!

Go Carolina on Saturday or Washington the week after Homefield throughout would be huge!

If Dallas wins Saturday then I think you want Washington to beat Minnesota, so Washington has something to play for when they meet Dallas the week after.
