It's about 10 miles out from downtown if you're really that curious, and nowhere near a cow. Granted there isn't much else out there, but definitely no cows. There are a few farms, but not those kind of farms.

Jennings definitely didn't mean what he said as an educated observation.

The funniest part about the quote is if you drive 30 minutes outside of Milwaukee, all you will smell is cow ****.

Absolutely....I worked at Wisconsin Electric Valley Power Plant for years and it is just off downtown Milwaukee under the viaduct bridge near Potowatami there is a a slaughterhouse where they take cows to make soap and meat and other things.
And if the wind is blowing just right in the Summer or in warm weather like they have in Sacramento that is what you smell in downtown Milwaukee on some nights early in the morning...
So, it is not far fetched that a 20 year old like Jennings from smog filled L.A. going to Sacramento
could say it smelled like that as a joke or because of what he heard.
There are tannery's you know...in every city! So grow up Kings fans! No city smells like roses...but to blow this out of proportion is ridiculous.
At one time or another when I was young, Milwaukee smelled like Beer, and Wonder Bread, and Ambrosia Chocalate and Sausages ...at various places around town.
In fact just blocks away from the ole Milwaukee (Mecca) Arena you had Pabst, Schiltz and Blatz breweries and a bread and Hostess plant and chocalate all in a 1 block radius.
Wonderful city and smells... I loved it. It is not always a knock. Stop looking for things to complain about.
