Wiz at Blazers Game Thread

Post#1 » by dlts20 » Sat Mar 20, 2010 12:54 am

Im most interested in seeing Blatche tonight. You could tell that he was starting to get like clockwork and totally understanding when to go inside, when to go outside, and realizing that he can back down even big guys. He was getting better & better with his moves on every possesion. Now Im worried will that ankle injury hold him back some. Can he still make those quick spin moves into the post, attack hard off the dribble, and will he be as aggressive? When Singelton had his, he wasnt the same guy for like the first 5 games but now he's back to playing well again.

Blatche's wasnt as bad o hopefully he doesnt go in the tank for a few games but you can tell that it has to be somewhat tender. Add to that we have games coming up against really big & good frontcourts in the Blazers & LA so I wouldnt be shocked if he didnt play well but if he does then that just shows you how good he is going to be. If Flip is smart he will put him on Camby and let McGee & Singelton guard Aldridge. Lamarcus also isnt that physical so we could go small some in this game with Thorton at the 4 if needed. All I know is that Dray was playing some very smart basketball and I dont want the injury to make him start settling and taking bad shots or off balance shots again

Man this game sucks already. Blatche looks like he's just out there and for the 1st time since the trade, Flip looks like he didnt make him the focus due to the ankle so we might as well have sat him if he's just going to look like he's in a daze

Gee Wiz the only bright spot so far. Imagine if we get a real PG throwing this guy alley-oops.

What is the Robert Morris v. Villanova? The Wiz are getting hosed on every play by the officials.

I have been unable to get myself to face watching this game with Blatche on a bum ankle.

But Gee-bus, Blazers @ .28% shooting and Wiz @ .32%? Ouch, all-time ugly, right here.

I can't believe the Blazers just gave Foye that shot with how hot he is, man, wide-open after he just hit two.

You may have heard that Nate McMillan is considered a defensive, tough-minded coach.

We hope this has shown you this is not the case at all.

A nice "tank with dignity" game. Wizards with a late comeback only to lose on a last-second shot.

It's got to be hard for morale to lose 10 games in a row, but it sure is good for lotto balls.

I just knew Blatche would suck tonight and Im not giving him a pass on the ankle either because I think it was more mental than physical. Gil is the same way. Anytime they get any kind of injury then they play soft, weak, passive, settles, and just looks like they are going through the motions. You have to be mentally tougher than that or just sit out. He just looked so not into it from the jump, wasnt playing hard, and just had that lax attitude

Are you seriously angry about him saying that? I think you're being unfair.

I am fine with these good "tank losses" but this is like last year all over again. We are hoping for more lotto balls but most likely to get screwed in the lottery.

Then again if we get a top 5 pick this year we are most likely to keep it and be able to draft a player I like and a player with good upside. Last year was the Blake griffin sweepstakes. This year it's for john wall but there are also players in cousins favors and turner with great upside along with wall. Wall though IMO has the most upside as a franchise point guard
GO SKINS
GO WIZ
GO CAPS

GO DC BABY

maybe the Nats, in like 10 years

But it's not just a matter of Lotto-Balls, it's also the pick order. We're in the fourth slot, but we're about four wins away from picking 9th.

Your second paragraph is key. In a one-player draft, the difference between 4th, 5th and 6th just isn't that significant. But in a 4 player draft it's huge. At 4th place, we have a 47.7% chance at landing a top 4 pick. At 5th place, we have just a 29.2% chance at a top 4 pick.

Tough-break last night, Roy crab-dribbled his team to a win.
