Well I have been busy and haven't been able to post lately, but I had to come talk about that... Wow, so awesome. I actually went to the premier a couple weeks ago, but I could watch that 100 times. I was only 7 or 8 when we first won, but man I was a huge fan and remember all of those awesome games.
Only thing is there needs to be a Part 2 or something! Reggie hits the 3 in MSG a couple years later I think (I have the poster, I think Marsh gave them away or something. Every1s face in MSG is just like craaaap, he's doing it to us again). And it ends with that LJ BS?!?! HE WASN'T TOUCHED!!!

The NBA used to be so much better, and not just because the Pacers were good. Allll those series with the Knicks, and then the Bulls, and even the Magic (and Hawks, Bucks, Nets, etc). I guess I just liked how they could bump, bruise, and fight more. I'm thinking Evan Turner hitting the buzzer-beater the other night in Conseco is a sign of things to come with him on the Pacers. I hope the Knicks get Lebron so we can reunite the rivalry!! Man I miss the tough guys like the Davis brothers.

Absolutely awesome. Def brought back the memories of the good ole days. Maybe i was just too young or just didn't remember correctly, but i didn't know Reggie cried after Game 7 loss. The guy was all about winning for Indiana. When he lost, it's like he felt he let down an entire state.
It was really cool though to be able to see that. I'm so glad they did it on Reggie Miller. I realize they were showcasing the Pacers/Knicks from the Ewing, Riley, mid-90s era, but i thought that they could have showed few more moments of Miller at MSG, especially when Reggie and Jalen Rose won and hugged mid-court after advancing to the NBA finals. Earlier in the telecast, it showed Miller drain a shot on the Lakers in the finals but they never once showed Reggie vs. the Knicks in the Conference finals.

Agreed but not too sure. I think that NBA was better for the fan, because they actually had rivalries. Not only Pacers vs. Knicks, but other legit ones, where players hated the opposing cities and players. In todays game, the rivarlies are short lived because many of the players are "boys". Lakers/Celtics was something and once again the NBA had something going, but, they don't play often enough. It can't be the leagues only rivalry. I remember when Anthony went to Denver and James to Cleveland, all the media made that to be the next "Magic vs. Bird".... but truth is, off court, both were best friends. Today's NBA makes much more sense for business. The "thug" play and the fighting like we saw in the movie tonight, just turns corporate people away.
I hate the Knicks still, but, i wouldn't mind them getting James or a star or two (Joe Johnson and Chris Bosh was just rumored on wiretap) because it's a proven fact that the game of basketball is a much stronger game when the cities such as Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and New York have strong teams. However, i just want the Pacers to get back into respectability somehow, someway. I really think Evan Turner is our golden ticket back to glory. We need to pray for that lottery ball....

And lately even THAT is up for debate.
After watching this movie, it REALLY makes me wish the Pacers would go back to the Flo-Jos, although I know that would never happen.

Yeah, I'm not sure if it is worse or better for business. I mean football is clearly America's sport, and even the worst teams sell out many games (obviously only 1/5 the home games, so it is different, but they also hold 4-5 times more people). It obviously doesn't work if just one guy (Ron Artest) fights. But stuff like the other night in Phoenix was great. I loved Granger shushing the crowd, I just wish he could've backed it up more.

The film was really good.
I forget how much I took for granted the physical play of that era. Nowadays, a hard foul is technical. Back then, you could put a guy on his back, and it would be a personal foul. Guys like Oakley and Dale Davis made a living by being enforcers in the paint, those type of guys aren't really in the NBA anymore.

I didn't think it was possible for me to hate Peter Vescey any more than I did, but this documentary proved that wrong. Loved it overall though.

Had to get a hold of it, took me some time to find. Such a great rivalry, tremendous to watch Reggie and his antics.
I agree with PR07 about the Oakleys and Davises. You just can't find them anymore. Kind of a shame to see the game be much "softer" compared to those days also.

I teared up at some points, no joke. It didn't matter that I had seen those replays hundreds of times.
