Raja Bell waived by GS

Post#1 » by Bullet » Sun Mar 21, 2010 2:48 am

I think I'd like to see Raja back in a Jazz uni. Not because of his offense (surgically-repaired wrist though, but I guess much more for his defense. He's another lock-down perimeter defender Utah might need in the playoffs.

Raja would be that leader and veteran presence that would be nice for the playoff run. The thing that Bell does do is mix it up, and Utah just doesn't have that guy that will shows some balls and make a hard foul. Who cares if he's washed up, the guy is a leader and insurance just in case of an injury.

Bell is out with an injury. Even if he returns, he was waived after the post-season eligibility deadline and wouldn't be able to play in the playoffs anyway.

There is no way that I ever want Raja Bell back on the Jazz again. He could have stayed with the team, but he CHOSE to sign as a free agent with Phoenix. Why should I want him on my team when he clearly doesn't want to be here?

He is hurt and can't play in the playoffs. Get used to Othyus. Rhymes with Morpheus.

I wonder if he wouldn't have had a better career had he just stayed in Utah.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Raja left the Jazz because he got a chance to play for a legit title contender who called him BEFORE the Jazz did at the start of free agency, for more money than the Jazz offered. Also PHX is a warm weather city.

I dont blame him.

Raja had a pretty good opportunity in Phoenix. He made his name there.

Another reason raja left he took a starting job over the backup job we had for him.

That isn't 100%. He could be healthly for the last few weeks and make a push with his veteran experience.

He has been out for so long I don't know how effective he would be--and he isn't playoff eligible so he would be a band-aid for the last several games. It smacks of desperation for whoever picks him up... :x
